It seems that if you fight back against someone who hasn’t identified themselves, it’s considered self-defense, not resisting arrest.

Another dictator move: try to unite the country and consolidate power by making or entering a war.

Anchorage, Alaska probably had more people at the No Kings Rally than Trump had at his parade.

“He did not say that; it doesn’t even match the style of his documented language. However, he did say: ‘They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

That must be an addendum to the part about "unity and love, and respect."

Don't think the founders had a felonious president in mind either.

I’m an Alaskan just finishing up a month-long stay in Scotland. While I appreciate the history and culture here, it’s sad to see how devastated the land is after thousands of years of deforestation and the loss of animals hunted to extinction. Alaska’s scenery and wildlife are so much more pristine!

True. The faster this is stopped, the better, before too many people suffer the cruelty of tyranny and too many come to accept it. Still, dictatorships that have stood for generations have been toppled. It can happen anytime people have had enough.

The conditions that brought about this situation didn't happen overnight. It will take time, tenacity and patience to change it.

I went cold turkey canceling my Prime last December and haven't shopped there since.

Just for context, this story originated with The Babylon Bee, a website known for parody and satire.

By his own standards, this makes him a heinous ‘homegrown’ criminal worthy of CECOT.

I like the guy who posted, "I don't watch FOX for the same reason I don't drink out of the toilet."

I call bullshit. Autism in its most severe form was recognized in the 60's. I had a neighbor with it. I also had classmates who were labeled "hyperactive." Just because there was limited understanding of these things at an earlier time doesn't mean they didn't exist.

She only resurfaces periodically now like a cicada, makes some noise and then goes back underground.

We shouldn't be the gatekeepers of morality. The more people who stop supporting him, the better, whatever their motives. Some may also find a deeper sense of humanity in the process. In any case, rejecting potential allies over this only makes us weaker, not stronger.

It isn't out of kindness of heart that they need to be welcomed to the fold; it's a practical matter. The only way to get rid of Trump is to relieve him of his power base, and the only way to do that is to encourage defections from his supporters.

She also said, ‘I’m going to use my voice to the best of my ability.’ We ought to be encouraging any legislator who shows signs of fighting for democracy to do more of it, instead of tearing them down.

Van Hollen knows that with both countries leaders digging in, this was the likely outcome. His strategy is to bring domestic and international awareness to the human rights abuse so that enough of us might rise up against it. It's time to get to work.

She doesn't understand why we can't just arrest him and I'm at a loss trying to explain it to her.

I'm both proud and heartbroken for her. What she knows is scaring her badly, as it should all of America.
