Very similar experience! šŸ˜‚ It started last year after several years of slug-level athleticism… first time in ages did some chest exercises… 48 hours later the pain on the left side was so bad I was having an ECG at my GP. Shameful waste of resources on my behalf.

Artificial? It seems fairly normal to me. There’s a large and diverse provision of games out there, so there’s going to be high elasticity. Hasn’t the market just opened up more since the mid nineties?

I will add to this: Man Utd should not expect to contest for Champions League spots until 2027 or 2028. This is how long it’s going to take.

For me, Amorim has a carte blanche until the season ends. Next season, progress must come—but sustainably. No shortcuts, no abandoning his ideas for temporary gains. Fans need to back him and trust the process. There’s no alternative. Let’s stick together. #MUFC #ManUtd #Amorim

This rebuild will take time, likely over multiple windows. Financial constraints mean progress will be slow. The leadership MUST communicate this clearly to fans. Unless the ownership or debt structure changes, we’re stuck with this reality. Patience is essential.

A new stadium feels impossible with current interest rates. Transfer-wise, our most expensive players—Rashford, Casemiro, Bruno—are underperforming and hard to move. Sellable assets like Mainoo, Diallo, and Garnacho could bring in funds, but selling them would cause an uproar.

Man Utd’s revenue growth, once the best in football, has become ordinary over the last decade, but costs have continued to rise. The result? A squeeze on spending. Fans blame the new owners for ā€œpenny pinching,ā€ but the reality is the club’s finances can’t support a rapid overhaul.

The squad is unbalanced and not suited to Amorim’s 3-4-2-1, especially at wing-back. Recruitment is critical, but here lies a major problem: finances. 2. The Financial Side Man Utd are in a mess. Transfer debts are massive, and there’s no cash for big signings unless players are sold.

These things take time. Amorim has had weeks to radically overhaul our style—midseason, in the toughest league, with no new signings. The 6-day break before Liverpool will be the longest training period he’s had. His system works, but he needs time with the players to drill it.

1. The Football Side Amorim is the right man. His conduct has been exemplary, and we’re already seeing improvements. • Wolves was the low point. • Possession and pressing are better. • Attack is more patient. • Open-play defending has improved. But: set pieces and finishing still let us down.

The least helpful thing I can say, I know - but I’ve really noticed exercise makes a difference since becoming an irritating gym-goer this year.

As much as I’d love it to be about us - is this not just a reflection of the turmoil in France and Germany?

Hey Oz - you’re usually very reliable. Anything positive you can share on HTS that shouldn’t make us worried?
