What’s this in preparation for? 🤔

Grrr. 😡 I play ⚽️ with/against Hondurans. Sometimes they’re annoying on the field, but they’re good guys at heart, and I’m glad they’re here.

I heard it from my spouse's family in Orange County last weekend (paraphrased): "Don't go to L.A. It's too dangerous, and every time we go, [redacted] wants to shortcut thru [neighborhood] but I don't wanna do that without a firearm. I really gotta get a permit soon." 🙄 We went to the Getty anyway.

Plenty of Marxist regimes have used political violence, not just against ideological foes but also to settle petty, personal grudges and win power struggles. (Think Stalin.) White supremacy in the USA has been written into law. This is different: lawless domestic terrorism encouraged by Trump.

They're obviously throwing up chaff in a weak attempt to distract from the fact that the shootings in Minnesota were acts of domestic terrorism aimed at ideological foes. Is this who we are now? Yes, thanks to Trump's pardoning of 1/6/2021 felons. #NoKings #LawAndOrder (but from the center/left)

Send 'em to CECOT cause they kinda look like "terrorists"? No due process required, as with previous deportees.

Yes, of course to maximize impact. What action(s) should be done collectively?

How?

What, and risk a hefty fine or jail time? Thanks but no thanks. Instead, I'm planning to stop buying anything except necessities after tariff price hikes kick in. #BuyNothing. #SaveUp and make plans to move someplace where you'll have allies. Blue states, Canada, wherever, right? Gotta stay sane.

If your loved one(s) might've benefited from basic health science research that's not getting funded because of draconian cuts of the NIH's budget, that's Trump. If 10+ years down the road, America's not a world leader in technology because foreign students were too afraid to come here? Also Trump.

OPINION: They're trying to "starve the beast" to justify gutting our federal government. All for spite and political gain. Owning the libs justifies the means, right? Their voting base in the heartland of America *loves* it. After all, they weren't getting cushy R&D jobs. Why should anyone else?

... but there's a problem: They have to keep ratcheting up the cruelty to keep their MAGA cult followers enraged and engaged. What's coming next? Likely more special privileges for the right kind of religious dogma in public policy. Not from Congress. By fiat. Without meaningful judicial review. 2/

I get the point you're making about economic imperialism, but here at home, rule of law for the affluent few definitely existed before 2025. Now it's being undermined by a kinglike POTUS whose lackeys attack his enemies because they see it as good politics that energizes the MAGA-R voting base... 1/

Contempt of Congress charges would have to be brought by Trump's own DoJ, so that seems unlikely. A future Congress that's not under MAGA-R control could hold hearings about it, but something tells me they'll have bigger fish to fry in 2027, getting ready for the all-important 2028 election.

Yes, and that skin tone doesn't look super healthy. Tick-tock, motherfucker.

I'm part of the problem: totally unwilling to suffer for China. 😜 But I do get your point. Most Americans aren't prepared to suffer for their fellow Americans.

"But, but. He's a brilliant deal-maker. I mean, he said so himself, and why would Donald Trump lie? He's got our back." ~Every MAGA-R stalwart everywhere, right about now (the funk soul brother) They vote for him because he makes them feel good about themselves. Trump has spent his life #FailingUp.

"Read my lips" was the wedge Bill Clinton used to win all states bordering the Mississippi River except Indiana and Mississippi. He still had to work hard to convince folks to vote for him or Perot instead of Bush the Elder, though. Rated: ½ true (also irrelevant) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:El...

Shhh, don't give him any ideas. I'm waiting for him to realize most of our exports aren't goods. They're services, such as applied legal, business, and engineering expertise. 🫤 Actually, on 2nd thought, I hope he *tries* to tariff those, 'cause multinational corporations will lose their shit. 😆

Thank you! I never would've thought to click on the alt-text and was wondering why the bleat ended in mid-sentence.

Mr. President, bring Kilmar home! I mean, just for once, respect the rule of law. 🙏

My motives are clear, but since you don’t know me, I’ll explain: (1) Help Democrats win big majorities in Congress in 2026. (2) Shame Republicans in Congress into thwarting the T2.0 regime, however unlikely that is. Big turnout for protests might help. Fear-mongering won’t boost turnout.
comment in response to post
Cool, cool. But according to them, we should suspect everyone (and trust no one). Are you on board with that?
comment in response to post
I mean, that’s what a MAGA infiltrator would say. 🙄… 😜
comment in response to post
Always. But why are you trying to reduce turnout by spreading fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD)? Maybe you’re really an enemy (MAGA-R) agent. Hmm. 🤔

What year was this?

You do you, my silly muppet friend! 🤪

Most Americans are too busy working to protest, but give Trump’s 10% global tariff some time to destroy their jobs. Then I think they’ll turn out in larger numbers, and they’ll be angry, too. 😡

35k doing anything political on a spring day in a non-election year, in a historically apolitical country, is already big. Can it get even bigger? Yes, and I expect it will. #Resist and #BePositive.
comment in response to post
Who would impose any consequences? Certainly not the T2.0 regime.
comment in response to post
That would be a good outcome. Let’s not overthink it, right?

(D) leadership just don’t get it. How much longer until they get replaced? Because speaking for a few dozen million true blue voters, we don’t ask for much, but passion and pragmatism don’t have to be mutually exclusive, right? Sieze the narrative. Win the elections. And then govern, dammit!
