Transgender men's invisibility is violent erasure. Sam Nordquist, a 24-year-old transgender man, was tortured for over a month to death, and his slaughter is not being considered a hate crime. The media has gone to disgusting lengths to minimize Sam's transgender identity. Hardly anyone is outraged.

Just because something has a scientific explanation doesn’t make it any less numinous. Corvids speaking in the voices of the dead only further solidifies their place as psychopomps and carriers of the dead across folk traditions and mythologies of peoples they share range/contact with.

First I tried coming out in the mid-80s. Then again when I was in high school. I graduated in ‘99 and by 2000 I was living two separate lives, one of which was secret. Due to financial and safety reasons I didn’t start physically transitioning until 2021. Been in med debt most of adult life.

There it fucking is.

We need to look out for us, because no one else will.

Sam Nordquist, a transgender man, was murdered in New York after being tortured for more than a month by five people. He was 24 years old. Please do not forget his name. www.cnn.com/2025/02/15/u...

Have a great day y’all

When I say there are some 18th Century traditions we should bring back, this is what I mean 🤷🏻‍♂️

One of me new favorite pocket stones. Wetumpka petrified wood from the Cretaceous Coker Formation of Alabama.

Aussie opal, glittering petrified wood encrusted with druzy, and more. Come check out my wee rock shop and get yourself something affordable and special.

I’m struggling so hard. I feel like I’m only barely keeping my nose above water. I’m really not okay but trying very hard to be. Or at least, be functional. I still have to dance for my supper, even if both feet feel broken. I am so, bone-deep exhausted.

New blog post:

You can always choose not to be a fucking plague rat 🤷🏻‍♂️

Your words and reblogs are absolutely empty if not backed up by visible action. But at least it tells me exactly who can be trusted to put their money where their mouth is. WEAR. A. MASK.

My bird-friends at the aviary. I was so happy to hear Buddy whinnying and chittering away at me.

🚨😷🧪 NEW: A growing body of evidence shows that pandemics, biodiversity loss, and climate change are part of a broader polycrisis - but there are no simple solutions. A sweeping overview of "Pathogens and planetary change" for the first issue of @natrevbiodiv.bsky.social, out now 🔓 rdcu.be/d6lHl

Yup.

I talked to 10 current and former Meta employees about the company's surrender to the right on speech issues. All were upset. One person called the changes "a precursor to genocide" www.platformer.news/meta-fact-ch...

WELLLP. Guess this is a wrap for me re supporting his stuff. That is one (of many) things I simply cannot abide by.

Starting 2025 off with a beautiful XRM scan of a soybean root nodule, contrasted with ePTA. Lovely dataset for someone who's skilled at segmentation!

Just me rubbing off my horn, nothing to see here

My wee rock shop is currently fully stocked and live, with new updates incoming. Y’all should come have a look.

Fossil pine cones, from the age of the dinosaurs

Chlorite from Mineral Hill, #Maryland. Seems a bit schisty to me

Snowed in today, so I’m working on inventory. Here’s a petalite specimen from Zimbabwe, now available in my wee rock shop: ko-fi.com/s/836eab26f1

Also listed some authentic pirate sea glass!

Just listed some cool amber river glass from the late 1800s/early 1900s

The burns on my face are healing and PEELING ugh. I’m actually rather vain about the skin on my face so this sucks. But thankfully, I am healing. If I can just shake this “not-covid” flu bug I’ve got going on, I can get back out to the hills fossil-hunting. This cabin fever is bs.

Big thanks to Armin Schmitt for this data point. Some of us humans estivate, too. Taken from his book “The Lost World of the Dinosaurs”. An excellent read. Almost reminds me of Scott Sampson’s work (“Dinosaur Odyssey”). Very well done.

I actually have multiples of these, so I am downsizing a bit. I absolutely *love* tree ferns.

Anyone want a big ole Permian ammonite?

Have you some rolly-poly dudes

Got a fancy for primordial forests like I do? Mazon Creek nodules will definitely satisfy your curiosity.

Updating my wee rock shop with new specimens and other goodies. Come take a look!

I spent my new year recovering from 2nd degree burns to the face. That sure was fun. My eyes are just getting back to normal after having been swollen and blistered. Really lucky it wasn’t worse. Dropped a cup of boiling hot tea and it splashed into my face. Had to go to the ER. Fun times lmao
