“sports rarely cares for a feel good story”
Yep. If the sports gods did care, the Yankees would have won the 2001 World Series. The only time I ever rooted for them.

…neither checked the clock. Karynn had an early day the next morning, so I took her back to her place. Once there, she finally looked at her phone, and only then realized that it was barely past 11pm. That’s when I fessed up to what I’d done, and told her that I had never been a big fan of the film…

We watched it over at her cousin’s apartment. We put it on around 9pm. Within 30 minutes, the two of them…📽️

I would not. Case in point, the Coen brothers are my favorite filmmakers. I own all but 2 of their films. If Netflix ever releases THE BALLAD OF BUSTER SCRUGGS, I will buy it.
I will NEVER purchase their piece of shit remake of THE LADYKILLERS. It is absolute dreck.

I remember being lucky enough to catch this at the Inwood Theatre in Dallas, where it quietly played for a week before disappearing. That opening sequence was jaw dropping.

THE KRAYS came out in 1990, a superlative year for gangster films. An art house film, it actually grossed more than the Coen’s MILLER’S CROSSING and Phil Joanou’s STATE OF GRACE, but rarely gets discussed. MC grew more popular with its video release, and SoG got rediscovered during the pandemic.

… and was actually what GMC called that particular car’s color. Macy also thought it sounded better with that northern Midwest accent he was using.
So they gave him one take, and that ended up being the take they used in their final edit.

I remember reading an interview with William H. Macy, and how he had to plead with the Coen’s to change one line in FARGO. Throughout their script, the car he removed from the lot was referred to as a “tan Sierra”. Macy begged them to let him say “burnt umber”, which he felt a salesman would say, …
