It's refreshing to see someone on the tech industry cutting through all the current AI bullshit to call it what it is and warn about its dangers. And also this undercurrent of how underwhelming this whole thing is ("brain in a jar" is an apt metaphor).

Lunch break soundtrack. One of the small pleasures of working from home. (PJ Harvey has many great songs, many powerful songs, and many haunting songs; but "Prayer at the Gate" has to be most powerful and haunting song of hers. What an incredible opener for this extraordinary record)

This is so relatable. And yes, it shouldn't be hard. There’s something deeply wrong with this world when something so simple is practically out of reach of most people. (For me: a modest sized home with a cool reading nook for my bookshelves)

It's close now to 60 years, but for me it's still the definitive cinema experience. "2001: A Space Odyssey" is spellbinding from the very first moment. Watching it on a proper movie theatre is a privilege and an absolute joy.

Uma nota breve sobre a shortlist do Prémio Ursula K. Le Guin de 2025. Tanta coisa interessante para ler! (Há quatro anos consecutivos que o Prémio Ursula K. Le Guin tem as melhores shortlists dos prémios de FC/F. Já li várias obras nomeadas e não houve uma única que me tenha deixado indiferente)

I was today years old when I discovered the out-of-this-world Radiohead gig at Bonnaroo 2006, exactly 19 years ago to this day. I had never even heard about this festival. Holy crap that setlist. Yeah. If I get that time machine, this is what I'm going back for.
