No, the fight isn't over. Yes, class relief is possible. But people WILL be harmed by today's decision and its effect will NOT be minor.

My favorite small prophetic moment from her books is a scene in Adulthood Rites where Akin tastes a small piece of plastic from the remains of Earth, instantly reacts to it as poison, and is stunned to learn this stuff was once everywhere.

Judge Farbiarz finds there are extraordinary circumstances here, and no flight risk or danger to community. Also the punishment claim is substantial enough to justify release. He orders Mahmoud Khalil RELEASED ON BAIL.

That’s a North Carolina deep cut right there. 😂

Just extrapolate this to every time a law enforcement narrative is presented as fact, versus the testimony of family and community who know something else happened.

Yeah, I got message like that and discovered the beauty of mass deletion. They want us to forget that’s an option.

When Gmail was in its Beta stage, people had to invite you try it. I think you could refer a friend or something. They tinkered with it for a bit then opened it up to anyone.

Soon Louisiana brides needing an inappropriate venue are going to have to compete with government agents looking to evade habeas corpus.

When polled, the remaining matches were surprisingly supportive of Luigi Matchione, though opposed to arson generally.

This part was shocking to hear. Undoubtedly it’s what they’d do, but it was a mystifying approach to argument to say you’d oppose the relief you’re suggesting and also not obey a federal circuit court.

I think this relates to the thoughts you were posting about framing. It’s banking on the notion that the public won’t stand up for undeserving “criminals” and will not make too much fuss as long as that distinction can be made.

Judge Session: I see no evidence of risk or danger of any kind. The court orders ICE to release Rümeysa Öztürk from custody IMMEDIATELY. She is free to return to her home in Massachusetts. Also free to travel within Mass and VT. I'm not going to restrict her travel, because I see no danger of flight

I know, most popes are pretty square But there’s a place Obama’s from and this new pope’s from there. And I heard, it’s ‘cause of JD Vance - Oops he killed the old pope and that gave Prevost a chance…

Hence the news alert that they’ve replaced the Board of Elections Director coming right on the heels of the concession news.

My 13yo tells me most are on TikTok. The trouble with the meme language is that part of it is the art of repeating a thing so much it loses its original meaning and context. Asked my 13yo today about “six…seven” and he was hazy on the origin except for a vibe that it was about height.

Oof. I hadn’t read that one in full yet. They’re going with “lawless insurrection” and federal crimes, and even hitting on in-state tuition. Bad bad bad.

Maybe too many folks are in it for the End of Days? SecDef Pete seems like a good way to move that along.

I would not call it even a sort-of ruling for Riggs. It’s more like throwing out the ridiculous claim about the 60k votes was cover for a ruling that will allow Griffin to selectively throw out enough heavily Democratic ballots to flip the outcome.
