it’s even more demoralizing when the history you’re repeating is history you were around for the first time

Enjoyed this one in the shop today open.spotify.com/album/3NBhIa...

This essay on values at The Browser Company really resonated for me thebrowser.company/values/

This Apple “liquid glass” own-goal is absolutely wild given all the other major issues Apple is up against right now I am so curious how this got funded, built and greenlit for release at this moment in the company

I hardly watch the NBA but used to in the 90s and 00s. It seems like it’s almost entirely about drawing fouls and taking threes now?

The leaders of the free world

Just stunning at how quickly Greece has transformed it's energy mix. In a decade, coal has been pretty much driven out from 50% to 6% More to come as solar expands 👍 #energysky

Editing files in prod via FTP as god intended

Someone else said something very similar to this the other day, but. It really burns me that our (millennials') generation was legally terrorized for like, downloading Radiohead discographies But we're supposed to be ok with billionaires stealing human intellectual output in its entirety bc AI

Great discussion on Dwarkesh Podcast about the current state of reasoning and training for consumer AI models. podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/d...

A great little essay on the correct methodology for developing software by @eod.com “The very best software development methodology consists of one person with a list of things to do in a text file.” www.eod.com/blog/2025/05... Via @mylesdgrant.bsky.social

The west’s ongoing perverse commitment to 20th century fossil fuel technology will be its undoing in the 21st

I really enjoyed this essay by Chris Howard for Surfer’s Journal. Follow the Line www.surfersjournal.com/editorial/ch...

As a principal engineer at Slack working on a codebase with 20M+ lines of code across many repos, the hard part when tackling a new problem was gathering context: how is this supposed to work? Who’s the right person to ask? How does this interact with our infrastructure? How much does this cost us?

Reminded of this excellent Austin Peralta set today. It's no longer on Soundcloud but I was able to find it on YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lUu...

Great film

My app was rejected today for including a link to my app’s website which is literally just a description of the app and a link to the App Store. What will happen in 🇨🇦’s App Store?

I’ve never heard Zuck speak at length before. He reminds me of a Senior Director / VP level corporate exec who you learn to ignore because they speak at length without saying anything substantial. Everything is couched, caveated, and generalized. podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/d...

I really enjoyed this chat with @jed.co on his podcast @techsontexts.net A Pattern Language is a really special book. If you’ve read it I hope this conversation deepens your appreciation for it. If not I hope it encourages you to check it out for yourself!

#maddow Science break. This kayaker gets approached by an otter every time he visits a lake. The otter was orphaned after the mother was in an accident, and the man helped it throughout it's rehabilitation process to later release it back into the wild. Volume up.🔊

Just a terrible dark pattern from Google. There’s no benefit to me as a user to switch to the Google app for a simple search. The blue Continue button is designed to make you tap it without thinking to dismiss the popup. Worse, it sets up an app redirect that you can’t back out of, stranding the tab

The new Slate truck platform sounds pretty cool: cheap, customizable, short range EV pickup. www.wired.com/story/slate-... I hope they’re successful! It also looks exactly like the emoji 🛻

40 years into Thom Yorke's career, I think it's worth celebrating the magnitude and calibre of his oeuvre. Radiohead is rightly lauded for their ongoing artistic significance, but when you include Thom's solo albums, Atoms for Peace, The Smile, and soundtracks... open.spotify.com/track/2sEBtJ...
