The editors at the Australian are really quite a thick bunch. First, if you’re trying to persuade people, why put everything behind a paywall? Second, having done that, an awful lot of paywalled articles are then made available by the authors on other sites for free. No need to subscribe at all.

Just done an experiment comparing BlueSky and X on the coverage of today’s storms in Adelaide. BlueSky beat X hands down. X as a medium for breaking news is history - it’s either rehashes of the weekend’s sport, drop shipping ads, right wing idiocy or people talking about crypto. Truly boring.
