Saw Porcelain War at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, and thought it was wonderful. Truly amazing people.

Sorry about that. Wish there was a better way to search these types of lists, and fewer scammers. :/

Absolutely @fpwellman.bsky.social . Spent several with friends when I was stationed in England in the mid 80s. Gathered with friends, cooked food, watched American football. Yep, good memories.

Nice! One of my favorite pods is "Curious Creatures" w/Budgie and Lol Tolhurst. Seems they stopped earlier this year, but I still have most of them left to listen to since I just found the pod.

Thanks @fpwellman.bsky.social your article stated exactly what I've been thinking for quite some time now. Mainstream/legacy media was shamed/guilted into their behavior by a movement that has no shame and feels no guilt.

Voters believed, or wanted to believe, the GOP lies about how they would lower prices overall. Why? Because they didn't really understand, but it sounded good, so hey, why not try? The Democrats barely acknowledged the impact of higher prices when telling how good the economy "really" was.

I liked Kamala, but would any of the other options floated been better? I don't think that it really mattered who the Democrats picked. To use a phrase associated with Steve Jobs, the Democrats were firmly ensconced in a reality distortion field.

Tariffs poll well because people by and large do not really understand them. They will understand once their wallets are empty because the cost of everything they buy has skyrocketed. However, at that point, it's too late.

A president(-elect) can nominate anyone they choose. It's up to the Senate to approve or not. But, I believe the incoming Senate will rubber-stamp the nominations, after being lied to about what they'll get in return. And let us not forget the Senate approval loophole known as "recess appointments."

As long as we have choices and are not being forced to drink raw milk, I'm OK with RFK, Jr. expressing his opinion. Personally, I will not drink raw milk. We just have to make sure that we trumpet loudly and frequently the foolishness of, and the fallout from, the recommendations that he makes.

Silver Convention, 1975 NGL, I didn't know the band or the year before I looked it up, but I did remember hearing the song on the radio "back in the day."

But we have to believe that there will be an appetite to prosecute at the end of the term. I'm not convinced that appetite will be there whenever the "end of the term" happens to fall.

Agreed. If it's within my sphere of influence, I do what I need to do. If it's beyond that sphere, I observe.

imo, the likelihood that the charges will be re-raised is virtually nil. It's not zero, but so close to zero that for all practical purposes it might as well be zero.

sigh So much for the legal system being able to contain Trump. Didn't really expect that it would, though, especially not the DOJ.

Dafuq? Supply-side Price inflation is a thing, even if demand doesn't follow, but yeah, let's use a super narrow gauge of inflation. Doing without is an option that certain consumption-based economists can't seem to wrap their heads around.

Yeah. This and all the Powerball/Megaball/whatever lottery winners giving away their winnings. Uh, no. One last night asked what I'd do with $5000 deposited to my cash app.

It wasn't called the "red scare" for nothing. There is a reason for the color preferred by the GOP and especially MAGA.

When someone you don't know tells you the truth, which flies in the face of what you believe you know, what do you do? Embrace them and tell them, "Thank you"? Nope. You're sure that they are lying, and fall back to your comfort zone of the lies that you and your friends have embraced as your truth.
comment in response to post
It goes back much, much farther than just 10 years ago. MAGA is only the latest manifestation.
