That's why the Avengers game failed; not the overt grifting but the bland visial design. It was chasing the movies.
Skip forward a couple of years; Marvel Rivals (equally as grifty) is making bank because it's more visually appealing.

Landing a strike while falling.
Even the kick function is very hit/miss. Same damn button combo is entered, but sometimes it's a kick, sometimes its a weapon swipe.
