Fun fact: @aptshadow.bsky.social taught me about book lungs at the same time my spouse @risawolf.bsky.social was writing a short story involving book lungs, and then I read @benaaronovitch.bsky.social ‘s Peter Grant mistakenly remembering book lungs as box lungs!

This is a phenomenal novel—I read it because my spouse was cackling with laughter while reading it…they *literally* fell out of bed! It’s a phenomenal novel—fantasy horror from the monster’s perspective, which is the juxtaposition that creates some really hilarious moments. Put it on your list!

Technically yesterday, I wrote an 1800+ word outline for a novella. I don’t even believe in outlines! Ok, yes, I know they exist—I just mean I don’t normally write with them. I also don’t normally get paid for writing. We’ll see if this changes that…eventually. It’s just an outline, geeze!

To those of you cooking for the first time, or even relatively experienced cooks trying a new recipe: Frozen meat does not thaw in the fridge in 24 hours. Onions do not caramelize in 5, 10, or even 20 minutes. You are not insane. Your recipe is LYING to you.

You can honor David Lynch by wearing a mask in public. He had to begin isolating at home because he has emphysema- a COVID infection would likely be fatal- and no one wears masks anymore. Millions of others like him (including myself) were left behind when COVID measures were abandoned
