“You Might Be the Killer” makes a great double feature with it! Not sure if it’s available on Streaming, though.

We didn’t have cable, so couldn’t get HBO Go, but eventually were able to get HBO Now…then it switched to HBO Max, and I forget if it was an us specific bug, or if just a terrible decision on their part, but it lost our watch history!

I remember that from high school too—and I can still do it!

He’s usually at the back bar during the day shift, Thursday through Sunday, but bars being bars, sometimes gets stuck working a double or picks up another shift if they’re having an event.
If you want a preview of their menu: www.monkscafe.com

Huh, must not be the same place! I don’t know if they have fish and chips, honestly. Hilarious that they seem so similar from your picture. Now that I know saying its name won’t dox you, the place I’m referencing is Monk’s Cafe in Philly. :)

I haven’t had it! I usually get the duck salad and fries.

He knows my online handle! I used to work around the corner from that spot, and would often go there for lunch when I worked a half-day on Fridays or Saturdays.

I know a lot of bars looks very similar, but I’m pretty sure I know where you are. If I’m right, and that’s the back bar at a specific place that specializes in Belgian beers, tell John the bartender I said hi!

Oh shit, do I need to send you Burn Notice and White Collar DVDs? The complete series aren’t that expensive…
Can you even play DVDs in 2025?

That’s a fair ranking, thank you!
I do recommend both Burn Notice (has Bruce Campbell!) and White Collar (has Matt Bomer!)

Hold up, I have some important follow-up questions.
1) Where does Evil Dead 2 fit into the hierarchy?
2) Does the fact that the opening of Army of Darkness contradicts the ending of Evil Dead 2 factor into your rating?
3) How do you feel about Burn Notice vs White Collar?

Any chance of a physical release (DVD and/or BluRay) for Seasons 1 and 2?

Dang…I can write a LOT of words when I’m excited and hyerfocused.
I don’t know if I can do that repeatedly—I haven’t in the past.
I’ve had depression remove all focus as well…more than once.
I know “get excited and engage hyperfocus!” isn’t a plan, but Imma appreciate it when it’s here!

Did you also start playing guitars, or is your hobby just buying them?

I’m desperately trying to convince myself not to buy anything! I’ve been getting a lot of mileage out of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle—who doesn’t love punching Nazis—and I already have a huge backlog.
Fun fact: My Apple watch often records some of my Nazi-punching time as me being asleep!

Also, apparently you are an award-winning short story author! Imma have to get on that. I love it when I discover an author and there’s MORE FOR ME TO READ!!!

Dangit! Whole Foods (Amazon) and Target are the two closest grocery stores to me. There’s a couple of Aldi’s and a Giant that aren’t far, though. I really hope Aldi doesn’t do something stupid in the next 40 days.

I *just* finished “Someone You Can Build a Nest In” and I’m not sure I got the capitalization right. Regardless, it was a fantastic novel, I was shocked it was your first (because it was so good) and I’m eagerly looking forward to your second novel. Literally no pressure, though!

I would like to live in uninteresting times again. No matter what happens next, I don’t think I will.
On the bright side, my cat Monte is laying on me after just having gad cronshies. :)

I remember when Google maps added bike directions that would show the elevation changes for a route! Super-helpful in the ‘burgh so you didn’t hate life biking one way until you figured out the longer, flatter route was faster and easier.

That doesn’t sound right, I’m pretty sure 10 years ago was when they rebooted Dr. Who with Christopher Eccleston. 🤔
