Newburgh Heights, as described by Wikipedia: "Newburgh Heights is a nationally-known speed trap, employing traffic cameras along a very short stretch of Interstate 77 that runs through it. In addition, traffic cameras are employed in the stretch of Harvard Avenue that leads to the I-77 on ramp."

It's the second year of an annually renewable suspension (which will be renewed indefinitely unless either a court takes action or Judge Newman throws in the towel). Oral arguments before the DC Circuit occurred last month (www.courtlistener.com/audio/98532/...), and we're waiting on an opinion.

You know, it's not too much to expect her to come prepared with AI-generated talking points to address issues like this.

I asked ChatGPT to come up with a list of fake cases cited by AI. It provided a list of 10 such cases, but I don't know whether to believe it.

Same thing with the PPAC -- no new appointments announced yet. There was supposed to be a May 8 meeting of the PPAC, but it's been postponed.

Not really. Certainly a foreign national on parole can be deported, but sending him to a jail in a third country has more in common with the concept of extraordinary rendition.

It looks like that was the case with most of them, although it appears that one had already served his time, and was out on parole.

DHS posted a thread on X this morning (x.com/DHSgov/statu...), with photos and criminal histories of nine men on the flight, including Nyo MYINT, a citizen of Burma, and Tuan Thanh PHAN, a Vietnamese national.

Kinda cool to see a shot of Cleveland's Old Chinatown riverfront neighborhood, even in its decaying state. Memories.

This is a strange time to release this piece. The USPTO indeed did release an AI strategy document in January, but withdrew it in March.

Trump is acting if his goal is to take the US from being a global superpower to an insular regional power, a la Russia.

The oath did not include the words, "no backsies," so an argument can be made that it was not legally binding.

We are going to spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children, what it once was like in America when men were free to drive their cars into Manhattan.

She is a judge who hears criminal cases, of course in a court that hears criminal cases. Maybe, just maybe, "a criminal judge in a criminal court" is simply poor phrasing. Even so, I expect better from the US AG.

Easy to be flippant, but Trump going on the record to tell the media he is not in control of his govt and is being misinformed by advisors. Someone else is running the country.

"Witnesses uniformly reported that Judge DUGAN was visibly upset and had a confrontational, angry demeanor." Given that the Judge Dugan is a woman, isn't that at least a misdemeanor?

There are 20 or so hits for a simple search of "immersive art" (with the quotes) on Google Patents. Several of those look relevant.

They do have a web page detailing the following as "Examples of threats to the patent system": Falsified Signatures, Falsely claiming discounted fee status, Filing of spurious patent applications(!), and Unauthorized representation before the USPTO. www.uspto.gov/patents/frau...
