@mrjamesob.bsky.social as for souls on board, I always assumed it was transferred over from nautical terminology, which also carry souls. So in turn maybe due to early aircraft being associated with air ships?

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Kingston upon Hull, I always just assumed it was laziness by dropping the Kingston. Also I was in the Hull daily Mail in the 80s...I played a wise man in the nativity which had an article written about it (not for anything other than a school performing the nativity)

@mrjamesob.bsky.social on catch-up as usual. Early in the convo, it felt like Zelenski was set up for an ambush, purposely put there and quizzed in a way to give him a scolding. Very odd reaction to a visiting President under these circumstances. Can't imagine him ever speaking to Putin like that

@mrjamesob.bsky.social listening on catch-up. Strictness of teachers. I went to private primary school and in my lived experience the strictness was beneficial. Rules have changed now, I'm not sure how they can do it anymore. Also yes, disruptions were on the whole usually annoying (usually)
