remezcla.com/features/cul... Wow, this was really easy to find. 😬

*overstated. My thoughts are like herding cats, and this particular cat always goes out of line.

Who is LMM? I don't know a lot of the background lore on the production and cast, but I'd like to.

Good to note, but it's also an obvious (I hope) moneygrab whitewash from a corporation with repeat labor offenses. I'm more interested in the propaganda we don't usually recognize: like meat/fast food ads about satisfaction instead of the destructive realities of factory farming.

When Eelawn was called out on Twitter for destroying communities to mine lithium for his shitty tech, his response was, "cry about it." Please build worker power instead of giving asshats the attention they so dearly crave. Please stop conflating making fun of fascists with a meaningful struggle.

The first step of this is knowing that you already play a role in this system, as a human living in Consumer Culture. You aren't evil for buying berries. This system just doesn't care about consumers or workers. Only profit.

Labor touches everything in your life, good or bad. Most workers AND customers are separated from the big picture, which is how it got this bad in the first place. This also means, if you can organise workers, you can struggle against even the biggest baddest forces. This can't be understated.

Every grain you consume has an ecological impact. Are you unintentionally destabilizing endemic crops for indigenous populations? Are you supporting banana republics? Do you know you wouldn't have affordable berries without severely underpaid migrants bussed across the border to pick them for you?

Let's segue to videogames instead of garments. There is a huge difference between a humble card game company making videogames in the 80s, and what we have today. AAA studios don't want you to know/care about developers. Just buy and enjoy the game, gamers: www.gamesradar.com/games/game-d...

Imagine wanting a specific shirt, only to see no one made what you wanted. Even this is a big shift from where we are today with fashion, one of the most wasteful industries there is. This was my first videogame shirt, bought from a Hot Topic in 2005.

The US experience is enjoying products separate from their labor and enjoying media separate from its IRL inspirations. Feels like each disconnect one lives is colouring their worldview, bit by bit, until they can't separate reality from fiction. (This is why I'm wary of pop culture.)

I give furries shit for not necessarily caring about animals, but seeing this reminds me that we could be way worse off. Thank you for this sobering illustration.

I heard the early versions of Shen Yun had a red wave crashing over China, with Marx's face on it. I wish I could've been crossfaded and in the theater in person to witness that. I wouldn't have covered my laugh in time.

Lamb has comparably high eco impacts to beef IIRC, but chicken and fish are much lower, if that's required for whatever reason.

Addendum: I'm cool with ex-cop furries... if they denounce the police and put themselves on the line to serve and protect humans and nonhumans FOR REAL this time. If they aren't interested in either of these, seems banable IMO. You wouldn't want a former N@zi who didn't renounce N@z1sm, would you?

-I don't care if they have a fursona or not. Anything you share is a safety liability. If you say you care about safety in Furry but you still normalize pro-police imagery, your either ignorant or a bigot. Which one is it? How many victims will it take you to learn?

I love what you did with him. Thank you again for such a neat image!

Being human means getting it wrong. It's easy to forget that in a life model that punishes mistakes.

Don't make the art about the president you wish was in charge or the guy you hate. Make the art about what you and your friends are doing IRL to respond to [your topic of choice in current events]. This will attract the people who also make doing more of this art easier. Then you can art together!

Draw what you know and know what you draw. If you wanna draw pine trees in your Lion King fanart, please do it because you want pine trees, not because you don't give a fuck about trees. 1) Want draw tree 2) Spend time with tree. 📵 3) Remember how they feel 4) Inject that into art w/tree

- Doodling in your [normally just written] journal. It could be art with a statement about someone/something LOCAL that made an impact on you. It could be a comic about a truth you wish more people understood. It could even be porn of a moment that taught you something important.

This could be fantasy art about a better version of the world you see now, but I expect this is far easier when you know roughly how getting there works. 🔻SICK ASS PLAYLIST ALERT🔻 www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

I don't know coding, but someone who does described FA backend as an old-school forum, and I think of that every time I use the website.

Didn't yell, call you bad, or attack you. Cynicism will make it harder and I've only known you as a cynic. I am sorry I left you feeling attacked. I bet the interaction in person wouldn't have felt so bad, because you could see how much I don't enjoy inserting myself like this.
comment in response to post
Now you can fight the big bad! Well, at least after learning how to build interdependence with trusted people. That's gonna be a steep climb with all the weight of cynicism on you.

Sorry for interrupting here. It's important to note that this isn't a general human behavior. This is largely about separating consumption from labor, valuing profit above the health of ecosystems and people. To say otherwise erases millennia of indigenous living in reciprocity with nature.

Apologies for the weird order of these threads. They can take a lot out of me, and my dyscalculia is harder to mask than ever before.
