Might work if we traded more with the US than elsewhere, but we’re don’t. Also his 10% doesn’t cover everything -see cars/ steel etc. Finance/business services account for ~40% of our US exports, cars, chem/pharm less so. I just don’t see where the gain will come from in relation losses elsewhere.

How? If we trade more with the E.U. than the US won’t our costs go up as higher tariffs bite in Europe? There would need to a compensation in terms of increased US trade that seems infeasible to me.
