It appears that some creature deposited some pepper seeds in with these hummingbird-friendly flowers. Habaneros, I believe, since we grow those elsewhere in the yard.

This is from payment service Stripe's CEO, Patrick Collison. Had he worded this in ANY other way, it might be a bit more palatable, but suggesting that the human longing to invest ourselves in and to fully experience art is a "desire" that needs to be "cured" REALLY bums me out.

There are different incentives for young people and older people in any scenario and the solutions they will consider are heavily influenced by that. Someone in their 30s has a LOT of time left to live with whatever choices we make now. It makes them less (small c) conservative, and rightly so.
