It is not their job to uselessly run into bullets and die, no. Theh returned fire and chased after him when he ran inside, which is their job.

Cops show up, see him shooting, cops exit their vehicles, guy turns and fires on them, cops get cover and fire back, guy runs in house and cops pursue. He was too far ahead and ran out the back. Cops cant teleport and no. It is not possible to detain someone while they are actively shooting

Yeah im aware. Do you think cops should run directly into the bullets when they are actively being shot at or....?

No, they got in a firefight with him and he went back inside. Not so easy to put someone in handcuffs when they are shooting at you, huh

Well they did exchange gunfire with him. Im no fan of cops, but what do you suggest they do? Run directly into the bullets? Lmao

He shot at the officers. Hard to put someone in handcuffs when they have a firearm and are using it to fire bullets at you.

Hey, for the folks in the comments: The cops who witnessed it got in a firefight with the defendant, who is now in custody. Kinda hard to put an active shooter in handcuffs as he is shooting at you, holy fuck.

They got in a shoot out with him and he fled. It happens. It isnt very easy to put someone in handcuffs when they have firearms and are shooting at you, you know.

Ah yes, shooting at people is exactly the same thing as assisting them ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿคจ

Correction: his charges were upgraded to 1st degree murder after the protester passed away from their wounds.

A man attempted to shoot into the Salt Lake crowd with an AR-15 and was stopped by a person with a handgun. One protester was caught in the crossfire and tragically has passed away. The attempted mass murderer was shot, but im stable condition and has been charged with attempted murder.

I am honestly surprised NYT still keeps you on, and I mean that as a compliment

Just remember, the 3.5% of the population must be engaged in *sustained* resistence and distruption. Showing up to No Kings or another protest is a GREAT start though!!!

Having read Army vets' posts, I believe it was the US Army's version of a silent protest: sloppy marching squeaky vehicles terrible marching music demoralizing psyops

Your cops sure as hell dont refuse the chaos. They are the fucking chaos

If there was 250,000 people at thst parade, it would have been impossible to find a camera angle that *wasnt* showing a standing-room only crowd

It is so funny they do that, when we can very clearly see they only had about 20,000 at most. Not to mention, they only prepared for 200,000 haha

10,000 in Salt Lake City alone. I have *never* seen turnout like that, not even during 2020
