agreed with all of that and, i might be forgetting something, but i don't know if there was a single move as craven and cynical in 2016 as Ramos this year

i hope it does

agreed on all of that, but what we've seen is that he still has an iron grip on the institutional apparatus, regardless of how he got here

let me just say this: i will not be taking the bait to turn this into an argument about 2016. nope. not from this guy.
if you think i should do that, cool, you won't get a response.

yes, cuomo is in many ways worse than clinton, but i don't think that speaks to the point i'm making

the whole idea of the system being rigged came from candidates, Bernie and others, showing up for a fight when everyone with influence had already picked a side.

keep moving forward, you’ll make it. my panic has been going off for a couple of weeks and it’s just all breathing, walks, and meds until my head gets it shit together.

proximity to and inclusion in whiteness is definitely a major factor. more on this when I have more thoughtful posting in me. only dumb posts the rest of the night.

not in the mood to explain this very old take or find one of the million pieces on it, but his history of being the most gullible man in political analysis still stands. this man did a series about how smart and innovative Paul Ryan was in like 2010.

i used cops as shorthand but i said law enforcement later on in the post because i agree with you that i don't think the specific designation matters
but i think calling it all together fascist law enforcement is broad enough to make sense in my context.

yeah, the people i know who can afford to be apolitical are so wildly privileged that it can just all happen below them, but also these folks are professional politics people. i wonder.

Bret Stevens and Pamela Paul when there were together too. just these centrists power couples that must just talk about how better things aren't possible and how wokeness is a scourge.

there are tons of people with experience attending and covering protests on here, and if @socialistdogmom.bsky.social or @chadloder.bsky.social or @kimkelly.bsky.social (and tons of others) tell you how to be safe, you should listen

right. turn off FaceID is just good advice. don't put your name on a gd protest attendance list is just good advice.

this comes from thinking about RBG a while ago and her being a liberal, pro-cop jew from a time when, i think, jews like that saw american law enforcement as what saved them from Hitler rather than focusing on Nazi law enforcement that carried out the holocaust.

sure but one drives the other. the jobs are gone because of the monopolization and it's allowed a group of journalists who thrive under credentialism to eat up the jobs

the ones i remember are the ones that left in various scandals, but that's true of anyone from two years ago pretty much

yeah thanks man happy you pointed that out

it’s also a result of increased monopolization in the industry. reporting the truth is much more of an imperative when there’re five other newspapers in town reporting on the same event.
