The sirens in St. Louis city did not sound Friday before the EF3 tornado ripped through the city. It was human error, no one activated the sirens. 5 people died.

In St. Louis, the 5 deaths were in north city, a poor area with many older buildings. Residents there struggle to afford essentials, so recovery will be a monumental task. Missouri government has abandoned STL and KC in their policies for decades, and it is going to be a long road to recovery.
