Apathy as resistance. Sounds like a solid plan.

Nice to see the theatrical exhibition industry continuing to innovate new ways to make going to see a movie more unpleasant.

I remember thinking we had probably reached peak corporate pride monetization when I saw this pride gingerbread house kit at Target back in 2023.

Outside of Khan I wouldn't say I really love any of them. I do have to admit thought that I don't hate 5 to the degree most people seem to.

Fair enough. I guess this is a case where my personal dislike of something colors my memory of its general reception. I'd still argue that the 80s fish out of water comedy aspect of it makes it feel like probably the most dated entry in the series to me.

Yeah I guess that was my impression as well. I'm not a huge Star Trek person but that one always felt more like a generic 80s movie than something uniquely Star Trek.

Admittedly I was a kid at the time of its release and not super plugged into what the critical consensus was but I remember it being more poorly received. To me its always just been the one with the whales where Spock does the Vulcan nerve pinch on a punk rocker. 😑

I was shocked when I realized that "Star Trek IV is good" is now a consensus opinion among fans. Even as a kid I remember thinking it was pretty dumb which I thought was the prevailing opinion when it was released.

His ongoing fascination with the word groceries honestly makes me think he just learned it during the 2024 campaign.

Why the World Cup the Olympics or any other international events are still planning to take place in the US at this point is beyond me.

Wait now "we don't care about their market"? i thought the whole point of this stupid exercise was because we wanted other countries to buy more of our stuff? 😵💫

My eight year old floated "Make Toys Affordable Again" as a slogan the other day and I think it's a winner.

So just to recap, the Transportation Secretary is scared shitless of public transport. The Education Secretary is being sued for enabling child sex abuse. The Health Secretary is bringing back measles. And the Defense Secretary is texting classified war plans to the editor in chief of the Atlantic

As an Angeleno I can say that if the likelihood of rain is anywhere below 60% it's probably not gonna happen.
