In reading back to try and understand I realize I meant "it's done" as "this has already been done" and for me "so please explain what I am missing" is implicit when the norm may still be far too different. I'm taking the L on this one, to be clear, no further ask for your time. I wish you well! 🙏

Please understand I am very verbose and in no way intended to lecture. I apologize I misunderstood and I understand your frustration. I seek to understand and sometimes wonder out loud when I should stay quiet longer and listen closer 🙏

Doesn't seem that way. Glad to give it another go.

I certainly hope you don't think that all mental illness stems from a desire to harm others, I think that clearly untrue. I guess I read in "the central sickness" *of a new* "mental illness. We don't need a new illness, the current definitions work. Greed and sadism don't need a diagnosis to avoid.

Wasn't trying to imply anything, apologies. Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) and Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD) already exist and lack of empathy is part of what defines them. No need to create additional ones.

Beyond the standard actuarial tables already used for these things or are we mistaking more or less standard practice in conversations of this nature? I mean enough of them lack empathy which is a hard stop from me regardless of how the math works out for them 🤣

Having cared enough in the past to check I don’t believe this is substantially, if any, different that the previous ones?

That would be all of them that lack empathy my friend, this is done

Wait, are we still having to do deconstruction of “Got Milk?” style propaganda in 2025? Oh humanity 🤣 I’m going back offline again

You did not meet Parker Posey. Bet.

You think a grandma that had been knitting most her life couldn't end you without missing a stitch? It would be over before you realized and you’d fall over with a surprised look on your face like in the movies.

Generative AI (GenAI) and Large Language Models (LLM) have a problem with environmental impact and the privatization of human creativity. Machine Learning (ML) for moderation has nothing to do with either. Marketing has made the term AI meaningless. Subjecting human beings to CSAM is unsustainable.

Found out some old friends were accelerationist tankies a few days ago and I just can't with shit this week. Mad respect to those strong enough to stand tall that are the direct target of this ignorance. I'm mostly a bystander and it breaks my fucking heart on the daily🙏🌎✌️

And I am nearly 100% certain if I dug into their profile that would not be the case since you took the time to surface it 🤣 I have said and will say some dumb tone deaf shit, and will again, and I can only hope someone will grab me and say “do you hear, the words, coming out, of your mouth?”

I want to understand people and get where they are coming from even if I don't agree… and I will give people as much benefit of the doubt as possible in doing so… and even my best interpretation of that post is just… no. I only hope they are young and grow and realize how wrong and cringe that is.

Actually I do remember that claim at the time and thinking uhhh, even just mediation had been extensively shown to be effective even if you couldn't systematically quantify it or control well for variations in practice. My therapist said it was a tool to add to my toolbox, not a panacea.

#technofeudalism is a thing. Don't say you weren't warned if we end up in the more cyberpunk dystopia version of this timeline instead of the Christofasist state version.

I found CBT an extremely useful framework, was the bad rap due to it becoming the “it thing” and overplayed? Kinda missed any backlash but remember feeling it was hitting the hype stage. I find DBT a better fit but I dabble in anything that shows promise and works for me.

I'm mentally ill. I still don't like Hitler. Don't get it twisted okay?

That math is wrong unless you cook the numbers in hilariously disingenuine ways. What is correct is you are not going to offset the build cost of buying an electric with the savings between it and a gas car you already own. Get the miles out of your existing car first then buy what makes sense.

Have you seen the Edison Motors retrofit kits? Awesome stuff and may be ready to go in a year or so. www.edisonmotors.ca/edison-picku...

So fight on the ground, online, at the ballot box, and in hearts and minds, since that work has to be done regardless if voting machines were tampered with. There needs to be a resounding and decisive defeat. So that’s my focus & part of that is the need for secure voting. Will continue to monitor.

The other big picture issue is that there still doesn't feel like there is enough there there for me but more importantly, how do we get from here to there even if there was conclusive evidence? MAGA isn't going to roll over and say “our bad” and hand over the keys. They need to be defeated soundly.

Yup, that would be one of the most interesting ones to get to the bottom of and out of several takes I have read I remain uncertain. There was another analysis showing distribution patterns I found interesting as well and bookmarked for later. I like to get more analysis than hot take when I can.

Greg Palast brings the receipts. The Planet Critical article continues to read like wishful thinking of what could have happened, with no real recipets, just speculation. Misogyny and anti-encumbent backlash alone was enough to flip it. As were several other things. Occams Razor on this one for me.

I had a glance on my phone and will have to check it on my laptop or Kindle. It's a rough copy.

I’d buy that for a dollar (fifty). A classic no doubt. The zine feeling is strong. Be interested to see how much of it holds up 🤔

I think some people would call it a truism. It is a crass way to communicate a concept like internal vs external locus of control. Don't wish, do. If you are using loose language feel free to ignore my concerns. Lemme know how the wishing works out all the same if that is your intent ✌️

Not sure how being a realist that doesn't run around wishing for things is brainwashed and doesn't want to hear the truth. I am known to be over literal but words matter. “I’d like” “I want” “I advocate for” wishing is worthless and won’t get us anywhere. Also pretty sure it is a cliche not a trope.
