Becoming increasingly clear to me that this has been orchestrated behind the scenes for a while which leads to Russia taking Ukraine, China taking Taiwan and we have new world order controlled by the worst human beings imaginable.

I can see their argument now: "the president has unique authority in the constitution to conduct foreign policy that cannot be interfered with by congress."

I suppose that since the president is now the department of government with the exclusive power to declare war, the president can declare war and then proclaim all his war powers domestically.

Faced with these attacks, some of the Democratic policymakers and pundits who flirted with imposing meaningful taxes and regulations on billionaires and big tech have abandoned those advances. Because they don't like having to give up the perks that come with proximity to extreme wealth and power.

Once progressives (and even liberal and centrist Democrats) started asking these men to play by the rules and pay their fair share for the social safety net, these men turned on them--abandoning all pretense of progressivism and attacking progressives as enemies, even if they'd once been friends.

And yes, some of these men were previously willing to cozy up to progressive politicians and organizers. But only to the extent that progressives celebrated and rewarded their brilliance (eg, with contacts, regulatory loopholes, and tax breaks that undermined real efforts toward progressive goals).
