Immigrants are extremely good and cool. I want more immigrants in this country for a whole shitload of reasons. They contribute to culture. They contribute to the economy. I've always liked having them as neighbors. Someone please invent a pro-immigration politician so I can vote for them.

Dan is a chemical warfare expert and his advice is sound: tear gases (CS, CN, and OR pepper spray) sting and burn like acids, but chemically they aren’t. Antacids don’t help. Milk is also not any more useful than water to remove them (another myth) and will end up irritating your eyes on its own.

Guys the authority invoked is not the Insurrection Act don’t let ppl tell you it’s the Insurrection Act ok

If you know something about a visible protester no you fuckin don’t

These are crimes. They're committing crimes. And when people understandably protest the fact that they're committing crimes, they're shooting flashbangs at them.

If you are arrested during a protest or action against ICE or CPD in Chicago, I can represent you pro bono. Email me at [email protected]. (This is an offer for criminal defense; I unfortunately don't do immigration law.)

Everyone should read this www.statnews.com/2025/06/06/u...

I mean, I diligently check all things I'm writing about or submitting as an academic, scholar/researcher, and legal practitioner. Were y'all not doing that before AI?

PERA and PREVAIL would take us backward—reviving bad patents and blocking challenges. EFF is fighting back. Join us:

33+DC, if we’re counting states I’ve spent actual time in. (If you count “stuck overnight at a layover” you can add one more and if you count driven through but didn’t stay the night, add another 5.)

Any sports reporters out there? I've got a story for you:

I wrote up my thoughts on the Library of Congress debacle. I even got to refer to one of the earliest cases in my career--defending the giant pandas at the National Zoo. Although it originally posted before the awesome! CADC IAF decision, I added a few mentions. www.lawfaremedia.org/article/bure...

This is pretty relevant to Perlmutter’s firing (and the Natl Portrait Gallery firing as well.)

this is like drake and kendrick lamar but they're both drake

Spoke ENTIRELY too soon

I am dog sitting my brother in law’s dog this week. Now, from prior experience I have learned not to leave open food on the counter (because he is a horse who can just kinda stretch his neck out). But surely a tightly closed jar of peanut butter would be fine, right?

Nice empirical documentation that a large fraction of historically significant inventions were cases of multiple invention: someone did or would have come up with them soon even if the best-known inventor hadn't. www.construction-physics.com/p/how-often-...
