It comes down to how they value your job and if they believe they can replace you cheap. They either believe your replaceable and cheap to replace and may get a nasty surprise when you go or are just terrible people in HR as it costs thousands to induct and train a new employee.

When I had this exact issue years ago I took 10 ads showed JD aligned near enough exactly etc and they accepted I was right and uplifted the pay as they were so you'll apply and go...

Counter Offer so let's cut that and try and fix it save them and you time which will benefit both you and them.

Just get a tyre depth guagea gadget for a couple of quid very handy.. Most tyres have wear blocks as well for quick checking.

It's a great solution.. Mum uses an upside down kitchen stool to hold her jelly bag when she makes jelly rather than jam.
She did buy a piping bag filler though... I on the other hand use an empty nescafe jar which does the job
