Well NZ is often a little flattered when a big (well, sort of) star moves there, but when they start to throw their weight around, it all rubs off a bit.
The place he's moved to is both nice and a traditional counter culture area, so far as provincial NZ has that. So he prob fits in a bit better

Part of that is the change with Information Systems. People are getting their news from new sources, a lot of which is just straight up misinformation.
There also isn't really any local media in lots of places to scrutinise a council in any traditional sense either.

How, where and who did ICE recruit? Why isn't every newspaper in the country devoting themselves to finding out who is in this brand new secret police force that now terrorizes America?
