Ah I understand, thank you for taking the time to explain. It makes me terribly sad that people are only Known Unto God. I have an ‘adopted’ sailor in Bayeux and this year I have been thinking more about him and who he might have been

Nooooo! I did a bulk reg project and apart from smelly deeds it was fabulous! I was even given a specialist to discuss my problems with! I also found 6 conveyances to client of diff properties in a street dated 1946/7. All flattened in a Baedeker raid.

Mr W looked at me and quite loudly, in the way of many sailors, said “well they’re not the bandies are they?!”
Bandies being the RM Band Service.

My nephew was 2 Rifles. I went to his passing out at Bassingbourne. The band looked like the one from Blackadder goes Forth.

It’s essential to have someone calling out the time I find, one year on Whitehall the RNA were on fire because of this, the next year we looked shit because we didn’t

Now I really loved, and indeed still do, a good march! Nothing pleases me more than being in step and in line as we go down Whitehall!
comment in response to

It might be that they have had not training since basic, it’s easy to forget how to march. Unless you were a wren. All former wrens can still march!!

And it’s mandatory for all the soldiers to have a dead bear on their heads. In summer!
