They send immigration agents in steel containers by ship, like trafficking women in action movies? I wonder why those agents don't take matters into their own hands when they're back.

Trump didn't get more votes than 2020, only less people went voting democrats than 2020. Either because of the foolish "pro-palestinian" activism (paid for by the usual suspects) among young and gullible voters short before election. Or by relentless "filtering" of votes, simply not counting them.

I don't think many today, with "patriotism" on their lips, can or would try to imagine what it meant to step out of the Higgins landing boats into mortar shelling and MG fire. It physically hurts me thinking of it.

It's his only goal and pleasure to hurt people, the most cruel "unsuspecting" way he can muster.

Nothing wrong with personal relationship to god. It's the only true source of inspiration and guidance, everything else is made up by random people. However, the problem here is turning Christianity into a fake dependency and loyalty to one (criminal) PERSON and cult. Ignoring god and commandments.

Who would have known that hightech products don't use cheap 1920s steel, but very specialized products that may or may not be available in the US? Definitely not Trump, or anyone from his sycophant and cheerleading posse they call "government". To build such takes 1.5 to 2.5 years and an investor.

We're mostly not laughing. We're usually angry and speechless about the atrocity and abomination the US became, even though me personally, I will capitalize on it. In IT projects targeting to entirely replace every US-based service and infrastructure with EU-based ones. These projects started.

It just means "We're sacking all the technical and boots-on-the-ground experts that are currently in existence, and tell every state to care for themselves. Then we lie a lot about it on Fox, and try to find a way to funnel the money into Trump's pockets." ...

For those in the know, is that a real M32 or some airsoft gun?

WTF? Do they think they're doing a HVT sting in Fallujah or Mogadishu? Revolver grenade launcher, ARs, infantry gear. Overdoing the intimidating shtick it seems.

As I could not read the article on this tab (I am still a Times subscriber, while cancelling WaPo), it depends. If she has physical harm and permanent pain, then yes. I know hardcore pain continueing for hours. If she has depressions, no. It's testament to utter inability of psychiatrists if so.

The time measure is astronomically determined, but the definition of the zero starting point is not. It's just something picked from preference, in an era where folks got up early to milk cows. I'm perfectly fine with permanent summer time, allowing for outdoor sports after work in daylight.

Do you have a backend, or does everything happen in the frontend/app? I often have a hard time following discussions with a serious face, given that I am now a solution architect after being a developer for 30 years. A lot of stuff sounds like the wonderful concept of the no-tier architecture. 😳

Welcome to fascism, 1936 style. You're going to love the 1938 and 1940 version! Well, most of you.

Especially not from stoopid diseases that can be cured by $5 treatment, or entirely prevented. I have a hard time to contain myself, given the view of those first furthering the sales of that $5 meds for $500 only, telling the poor they can't afford it, and banning foreign companies selling for $10.

Did she refuse to paint moustaches and obscenities on all other presidents official paintings? Or initiate a project of creating 50 portraits of Trump as Jesus, god, Washington, etc. ?

If "free speech" is Nazi crp and anti-science propaganda, intended by an "employer" to disrupt the local society. And we all know who these employers are.

It puzzles me how people ramble about being able to implement some functionality "in one line!", introducing a whole new programming language and associated tools and frameworks to a company. As if it is somehow significantly difficult to f'n copy&paste the darn 6 lines it took in the old.

It's only an evil clown show, to the tune of rubles rolling. This is on the US intelligence community, they had obligation and measures to stop this years ago. And failed.

It was degraded into a cheerleading tool for Bezos, to further his relationship with those in power for his business. To plainly avoid the ire of the US dictator who could destroy his business, just for the vengeance that drives him. It's not a newspaper anymore.

In the end, the use of AI can speed up lots of routine work that is mere replication and variation of the existing. The big question is, how the reduced amount of workforce is dealt with. Funnily, AI points out that our current system of "profit maximizing" for owners will fall in near future. 3/3
comment in response to post
It will never create software that wasn't developed already before, but it can speed up the simple replication of known patterns, e.g. a simple REST API. If developers are aware of that and make use of AI as a tool, correcting its mistakes, it can speed up tedious routine work a lot. 2/x
comment in response to post
That happened, but it's not universally true. AI is an association machine, it associates existing information from its input and derives "summaries". Generative AI creates adaptation of the existing by patterns. If input is wrong or bad, output is faulty. AI cannot "think". 1/x

Automation with AI and robotics means, less time needed to create goods required or desired. Question is, which consequences. a) an absurd model of super-rich's profit maximizing, large parts of the people unemployed wellfare dependants b) reduced work time & smart distribution of work & wealth
