My nephew goes to school in Miami. They canceled an entire psychology course because the book talked about gay people. In HIGH SCHOOL. I'm pretty sure kids in high school can handle it.

I didn't even know men could be gay until the AIDS crisis! I wasn't raised in a particularly conservative place or community, but it never came up!

So much of what we call conservatism strikes me as a denial of their own mortality, a disgust at other people’s sex lives, and a belief that the world should be exactly what adults said it was when they were in third grade.

It’s really fucked that extremely moderate and normal Muslims are labeled as “radical Islamists” but that the actual people pushing their fundamentalist religion on our population go completely unnamed.
Please name the actual people responsible.
