The parade has hit a lull as we near the 7 p.m. mark. But lo, the sound of a helicopter! People rush toward the Mall to witness … a news chopper.

Had she sought one in those last weeks it is unlikely a doctor would agree to perform it given the baby was healthy & instead she would have received mental health counseling and info on adoption.

There is no restriction on abortion in NJ where she lived. Legislating this is looking for a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. Only a handful of doctors - less than 10 in the US perform later-term abortions.

Important distinction: Aponte never sought any kind of pre-natal care or an abortion. She hid the pregnancy from everyone but her bf then delivered the baby and let it die. She was clearly troubled and beyond irresponsible. It's a completely different situation than a woman seeking abortion care.

Yeah, even pre-Dobbs here in the US an estimated 1% of terminated pregnancies occured after 21 wks (full term is 37 wks). These are overwhelmingly cases of severe defects rendering a fetus unviable or complications posing immediate threat to the mother's life.

It's nuts to claim ABC, CBS, NBC, & AP are partisan.
