Yup. Or “why use a language that LLMs don’t support?”

I appreciate this take. I think I see things from a bit of a different POV, as a "product person," because I know how much craftsmanship + finesse goes into making an awesome user experience. But... I'm definitely open to the idea that LLMs can/do make engineers more productive.

How do you shoot and edit these videos? Recording: iPhone with a Bluetooth mic? Editing: iPad using what software?
comment in response to post
Did you film and edit this right there?

I just re-read my Apple Podcasts review from a year ago 😂 “This podcast has been described as ‘Old Laravel meets Young Laravel’ and also ‘Seinfeld for Nerds.’ It's 10% about programming and 90% about whether you should wear shoes in the house.”

Ooh. Good catch. I’ll fix that tomorrow. 👍

Case study: I used to roll my own podcast hosting (using AWS). Eventually, my bill was $50/month. Podcast hosting socializes that cost. On Transistor, hosting all my shows costs $19/month.

Apple seems so far away from this? “Allowing people to build their own apps” feels like more or an Android thing. Also, isn’t this what Shortcuts already does?

My point still stands? Vibe coding is good for personal apps and utilities (same as no code) but not for production-ready market-ready SaaS.

I really like @briancasel.com's idea of doing "AI building for the rest of us." I think it should be a newsletter! "Be my AI Sherpa" – @zackgilbert.com "AI tools are going to open up more of the long tail of business opportunities for small teams." – @tonydewan.com

Great video Jason! Do you think the Craigslist strategy would still work with a new startup today? Or does it only work if you start in 1995 and grab all that market share back then?

I spoke about this (at length!) with @briancasel.com on @thepanel.bsky.social podcast. Listen to the whole thing here: share.transistor.fm/s/2242825e

Ever sneeze so hard you hit CTRL+ALT+DEL, unplug your monitor, and accidentally ship to prod?

I spoke about that in the episode I believe: the Podcast Standards Project is implementing new features from Podcasting 2.0 However, when you’re going up against a behemoth like YouTube, new tags in RSS isn’t enough - it requires more advocacy and strategy.

It looks good!
