The way the supreme court since Bush has been continuously empowered is the reason we don't have abortion rights. The way the executive since Bush has been empowered to flout the authority of Congress is why we are here. It has all been part of a very predictable decline.

Bush was allowed to ignore reports including one literally titled "Bin Laden determined to strike the US" because he didn't like bad news and his cabinet was full of sycophants. Over 100 restrictive laws have been passed by states since the repeal of the VRA so no, our elections aren't free or fair
