cheers to the person who uploaded 1,019 different versions of their 640k word manuscript for finding the most annoying way to break my code.

Donna is 100x more snuggly now after she had her bad tooth extracted.

Dreamin'

It's been 3 years since she hung out on my desk. New apartment, new routine, I guess. So happy to have her back.

Has anyone written a bay-area specific explainer for the tech we get? The transit/geography here make uber and door dash much more appealing than in, say, Chicago or New York.

unsuccessfully explaining to Donna that vindaloo is not cat food.

Finding small joys, like this 1979 collector's edition Darwin set.

"It’s not a coincidence that the billboards themselves are more tangible than any of the actual products they’re advertising – abstraction can be very lucrative, after all." vicious. beautiful.

Naturally, there are 7 of these in a row. Definitely nobody flexing here, just standard parking permit stuff.

Home empty without cat. Is this how she feels when I go to the office?

With the protest discourse, as always, the question is simple: How are you spending your energy? If more of it is going to scolding "your side" than opposing "the other side," either make some changes or admit you're actually on "the other side."

It took more than 2 years of struggle, but UChicago finally fired their delinquent benefits contractor and are bringing postdoc benefits administration in house. Ironic that it won't help me - my contract is up in 3 weeks - but we leave places better than we found them for those who come after.

No no you misunderstand. Learn to Code was the scam that beget the scam!

Somebody would like to please be allowed out.
