They don’t play wider because pep doesn’t want them to. The fullbacks are suppose to provide the width to let them operate in the middle. That being said plan was still terrible and execution was even worse.

The thing that gets me is I genuinely think we need at least 4 players. (2 midfielders, a right back and a center back. That's 200 mill just to stay in 4th and compete in ucl. I wonder what the appetite for that is.

The big question for my is where do our academy first team players fit into this. I don't think it's viable having players that you just don't ever want to play as part of the first team. I think pep needs to have a long honest conversation with the board and with them. And FYI all the lads.
