Lately I’ve seen some chilling but accurate lists of things Nazis did that the administration is doing. Since so many “conservatives” shrug this off, I’ve started referring to Stalin instead of Nazis. This gets attention since non-Maga Rs are often deeply steeped in anti-communist world views.

The cuts and general terribleness may have one redeeming effect—With concrete threats to respond to, my students may write better papers. For example, they’re writing about Head Start, or how changed divorce laws made women’s lives better. Tomorrow I show them how to find recent news stories.
