And now we scrub the book one last time and throw it out the door. I am ready to get back to the new book.

Took the girls to the pond for first time! (Had to wait until they were large enough not to be eaten by frogs). They were very suspect at first but settled in.

Watching a bull frog try and dive into the pond with a large juvenile robin about 110% of its size. NATURE IS SO BEAUTIFUL 🙃

You can hear me growl "Jumanjiii!" and see him stop his assault attempt and start quacking angrily at me 😆 I deal with him using trick of pinning him down when he attacks. Just gentle hold for about 30 sec. After that, I can usually just raise my voice or point fingers at him like a menacing beak

Off to finish my Patreon story, as I can put it off no longer. My process at this point in the day is to just open the story draft file and writhe around on the floor whining about how hard writing is, channeling my inner Robert E Howard, until a story falls out.

Murder bullfrog lying in wait for mice in the chicken run. The chickens and ducks all ignore him. We no longer have a mouse problem in the chicken run.

Around the garden

😆🌱🤠

Today's AI overview ::head desk:: The thing with being search engine is that you can offload liability for wrong answers onto content creators. But when you created product GIVING the answers, it opens you up to liability. I am REALLY EXCITED for the day when the class action lawsuits hit

Early attempt to get the flock to play nice together. So far Jumanji is the biggest pest (spring hormones and all that) but the chickens seem content as long as the ducks back off and give them space when requested

Ducks!

Watched some more Wheel of Time, and once again love it and am frustrated by its uneven, breakneck pacing in equal measure. The cost of the show is at least 60% the costumes, and it was WORTH it 😆. I will miss this worldbuilding so much (at least until the next time it's adapted).

I've started letting Jumanji the adult duck interact with t new ducks for a few minutes, supervised. When he starts looking like he'll be a pest I say, "Jumanjeee!" in a low register and stick out two of my fingers, which he knows I will jab him with like a beak if he misbehaves, and he backs off 😆

Riiiiiight?

This is also why you say at end of a presentation or after giving an instruction: "Did I explain that clearly?" instead of "Do you have any questions?"

Wrapped some major day job initiatives that took all of my focus last couple weeks. Extremely proud of them, but have also done this long enough to realize it's a fleeting achievement. Websites and campaigns are ephemeral. They don't belong to you. You rent out your headspace. It's not a win you own

It's always very quiet for me here since I've muted hundreds of words. Checked in on Instagram for first time in awhile to see my mom's garden and was struck by how nearly every post has become a carefully curated ad, for one thing or another (including mine!). Just... A whole ass stream of ads.

It's almost entirely in Irish and has great moody cinematography.

:::sighing, idly browsing endless TV selections, sees new addition and reads::: "When the body of a young garda's mother, missing for 15 years, resurfaces in a bog, he teams up with a local journalist to --" :: instantly hits play::

There's some lovely filth over here!

Look at this lil guy!
