Sunny spell after a downpour. #Wildflowers #Orchid #Sussex

🌱Poppies. In the morning sun.

Amazing red poppy with white fringe. I plant a lot of different poppies so not sure what it's called, but first time I've seen it come up

Caught the moment Gadget finally figured out the steps. It has taken DAYS πŸ˜†

All right. Back to the war novel this morning. Just going full-on with my research references. πŸ˜†

Speaking of homegrown plants, we had a nice salad of jaguar lettuce, Merlot lettuce, mint, mustard greens, onion, and strawberries last night that was delicious, but once again made me wonder how humans scrounged up enough food to survive

This was the recipe I saw!

Watching video about 10 most poisonous plants and of course googling them to learn what they taste like. Apparently if you remove seeds from yew berries, you CAN eat the berries, but of course I'm not going to test that theory based on a quick Internet search and this is why I'm still alive.

Back at it. I do love building somewhere new again. I had been stuck in that last book since... ...2018 :::swoons::: I remember that date distinctly because I'd just been laid off and felt I had to sign the deal or I'd be living on the street.

"Your book is the reason I left my husband"

Old book is back to my editor. Diving gratefully back into fantasy war novel, which has been languishing on paper but bubbling in my brain. Finding it strange to write a book with men in it again. There's even one male main character! πŸ˜† It's been a hot minute since that happened

Ok, off to the writing mines.

Car battery finally conked out - or perhaps alternator - and the cognitive effort involved in getting and replacing a battery, and then taking it in if it is in fact alternator, is so high that I haven't had a working car in a week. I have saved a lot of money on random trips to Lowe's tho πŸ™ƒ

Wrapped the big day job project and now have four luxurious days off in a row to... :::checks::: ...work at my other job πŸ˜† The copy is more fun tho

Shenanigans

I write these things mainly for MYSELF πŸ˜† terribleminds.com/ramble/2014/...

Let myself have fun with book last night and enjoyed it. Realized my block was because I was thinking about publishing again πŸ˜† Publishing trauma is real. It's a wonder to have survived so many publishers, disappointments, and disasters. And that's speaking as someone who's been not unsuccessful!

Murder. Frog.

Good morning

Snarling at manuscript this morning. Soothed only by the fact that I was reading a mediocre book last night and thinking, "The book you wrote is already perfectly publishable, Kameron, as it is and better than a lot of things out there. You are just torturing yourself." Perfection is enemy of done
