Thank you for sharing this! I’ve found myself in a similar position recently as an avowed Methodist. It’s a comfort to know I’m not the only mainline Protestant contemplating the nature and presence of Godly beings beyond our usual perception. Strange times call for strange musings, I suppose.

Let me put it this way: No German organization will ever adopt the slogan "Unser Kampf", though "Our Struggle" would be a perfectly anodyne English mantra. Because some words have echoes based on their historical usage by others whether the speaker wants them to or not.
