Hot Take: I think that 200p is the perfect pfs for supports. S3 has introduced strong main weapons, and rn team comps are very dependent on supports to get entry specials for their team. 200p is the sweet spot where they can get specials when they need to but not to the point of being super spammy.

Hot Take: If teams want to try coolerless, I think that 2x crab comps are the future. Run splash+dualie/splash/cedit and play to stall out the match with paint and area denial. The comp def has a lower ceiling vs trad comps but a much bigger safety net (crab is broken). (Credit: Area Cup Crown)

I find it kinda suprising that despite the harsh nerfs to pencil in 9.3 and a majority of players thinking that edit would surpass it, Pencil is still the most popular cooler weapon rn. It benefitted from the meta getting optimized more than edit did and pairs better with other chip dmg weapons.

Hot take, I think mini is a very underrated slayer pick rn. (Just got 2nd place area cup ytd) I think its a good 3rd burst weap in triple burst comps with good ink efficiency to use it. The buffs in S3 made it a great fighting gun, esp the 3f buff. And not being the support makes the kit less 'bad'.

I want to write up a small thread on improvement, some flaws in understanding the game, and what top players are good at (so #compsplatoon ) The main thing I want to get across in this thread is practicality and simplicity, the easier something is the faster it is, and faster is usually better.

An interesting way to think about comp building and weapon viability (oversimplified) Imo comp building is about striking a balance between weapon strength and synergy, and the first 2 sets of weaps are good examples of that. There are some weaps that are strong but don't slot into comps (set 3)
