Interesting space for that play. Gambon and Hurt were at the Gate, so the Project was very intimate. Of the three, Gambonās stands out. It was incredibly poignant. He was physically imposing but very fragile.

I donāt know! There was nothing in the notes. Iāve seen John Hurt, Michael Gambon and now Stephen Ray do this play. All totally different. Iād love to know if he used these old tapes in Dublin.

Simon McGarr writes in the essay below on the recent UK SC judgement v a less reported CJEU judgment where the latter recognises that āa person should be empowered to be the primary author of their own lifeā. Itās a powerful idea.
