Of course it’s hockey. Foolish of me to even ask. And thank you!

I can't like your reply, it's too sad. Poor trash panda.

There’s a raccoon in the tree outside my window right now. Seems young. Got chased up there by a dog. Can’t figure out how to get down. What I want to know is WTF it was doing out and about in the first place. Sun’s been up since 5:30.

Flames in the Field is excellent, BTW, for anyone interested in these women. Extremely well researched, and not just another regurgitation of all the same stories. Written by Rita Kramer.

I read about the women of SOE fairly widely and she was always referred to as Noor. The oldest book I currently have is Flames in the Field, published 1995. She is also Noor in the MRD Foot chronicle of SOE which was first published in 1988, though I have the 2014 edition.

That’s it. That’s the secret to Shakespeare from a stage manager who spent her 10,000 hours sitting in rehearsal halls.
I wish I had been able to see the above performance, though. Those folks are *amazing*!

2) Avoid “actor voice”. You can’t treat Shakespeare like it’s some kind of sacred mantle that you put on. No reverence! This is popular entertainment. It is full of dick jokes! If you aren’t feeling it down in your bones, in your body, like any other text, it is death. You have to *feel* it.

If you just memorize the speech and parrot it back without doing the work of unpicking the language and connecting the thoughts, no one will understand anything. And it often requires a little extra oomph in terms of voice and body to help get those connections across to the audience.

Would you consider a podcast? I’ve been using The History of English, which is interesting enough that it stops my brain anxiety-spinning, but will eventually turn into lists of cognates, at which point zzzzzz…. It has 130ish episodes and I’m on my second pass through. 😂

Right? Too insecure to use a straw like a normal fucking human being? Who are these WEIRDOS?

Right? Like I know the problem with the manosphere is they’re all broken 12-year-olds on the inside, but this looks like the kind of thing we use to entertain babies who can’t sit up yet. Are men really regressing that far now?

I’m 🇨🇦 and tried to explain it to my chiropractor this morning.
Him: So it’s not really serious?
Me: oh no, it’s deathly serious. And also completely ridiculous.

This mashup is amazing! Two of my favourite songs from the last couple of years - Rim Tim Tagi Dim and Cha Cha Cha. #Eurovision2025

I’m sorry you’re missing it, but… yeah. There were a couple that hit “campy fun”, but even the two WTF entries were not the good kind of WTF (I’m looking at you, Italy).

Europe! There was a complete lack of batshit this year. What’s wrong?! I’m so disappointed. #Eurovision2025

Yes! So thrilled to see the segment on the stage hands! Those folks are working HARD. 35-sec changeovers between acts. They’re doing it at a RUN. Love it.

I probably shouldn’t be wondering just how much adhesive was used to keep Spain in that outfit, and yet… #Eurovision2025

I love the way they’re using the virtual sets this year - interactive and more than just for vibes. But I do miss the physical set pieces. No magically growing tree stumps anymore! #Eurovision2025

I saw BNL out there last year and had the same reaction when I saw the venue name on the ticket. WTF is that? Turns out it’s a former tennis stadium on the YorkU grounds. It was… fine? But never heard a word about it before or since.
