You should always consider your sources:
William Gwinn Dever (born November 27, 1933, Louisville, Kentucky) is an American archaeologist, Biblical scholar, historian, semiticist, and theologian
Perhaps try looking at some archeological research not clouded by religious preconceptions.

Um, no. Abraham was from Mesopotamia and his descendants mingled with a group of the West Semitic tribes, one of which called themselves Canaanites.
You suggested Palestinians should "return to their Jewish roots" which makes little sense considering the indigenous peoples of the region pre-existed

The land has been continuously occupied for at least 10,000 years. During the past 2,500 years a group calling themselves Jews were part of that. To claim it as solely Jewish ignores a lot of history and a lot of people. Temples to Dan pre-existed and then co-existed w/temples to Jewish god.

Oh, we knew we were f*ked by Democrats. They've been the biggest advocates of disinformation and misinformation concerning Palestine and International Law for decades.

Excuse me? The Levant has been continuously occupied since time immemorial, including by Homo erectus, Neanderthals, and various bands of Homo sapiens. Abraham wasn't a monotheist originally.
I would suggest Int Law should take precedence in the current age.

Not to mention that it wasn't the Palestinians who committed the genocide against Jews. It's always been the Christians doing the genociding, inquisitioning, crusading, and pogroming.

Sure do wish more people read the original Plan of Partition and knew history better.

Umm, I'm going with Door #3. Trump is president for the same reason soul-less people like McConnell (who could have impeached him) or Susan Collins (who never clutches her pearls quite hard enough to strangle herself) keep getting elected to the Senate -- Americans keep voting for them.

Those dinosaurs should have been extinct when the rest of them got wiped out. Must have buried their heads in the sand to survive and kept right on doing it.

Call me cynical but I'd assume his sudden conversion has more to do with trying to rehabilitate the stock price of Tesla than any change of heart.

There's an organization named in this article about a dossier documenting war crimes of 10 dual citizens in the UK submitted to their War Crimes Investigation Unit.
Unfortunately, they are procrastinating, unlike Canada apparently.

I registered as an unaffiliated voter back in 1974 and I've never thought either one of the parties was worth joining. They care about their own power & position & longevity.
If ever Ranked Choice Voting is available on a widespread basis neither party will be long in power.

He is indeed. And so are one third of the voters. Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats can win without votes from the unaffiliated faction.

Actually, it was Netanyahu who funded Hamas to undermine the PA, and why would anyone start counting this history in 1972? Start w/the Balfour Declaration. Read the original partition plan which Israel violated the day before it became effective & then assassinated the UN negotiator.

I really, really need people to understand information is easier to find in this day and age than it's ever been. And if people didn't care enough to look for it, then they have no freaking idea of what they voted for and have no standing to complain.

Not even close. They were too extreme for the Christian values in Europe so they came to the new world. Ann Hutchinson was literally excommunicated & banished. Rhode Island was founded with religious freedom as a tenet, but only included white religious freedom.

The only politicians openly critical of Israel are the 15 Democratic Senators who voted to limit arms transfers to Israel until there is a ceasefire. And that was May 2025, with numerous war crimes investigated & documented. 37 states, including blue NY, have laws criminalizing the BDS movement.

All the Dems except Bernie have backed off Medicare for All. Harris used it as a platform back in 2020 but not at all in 2024. Only 15 Dem Senators voted to limit offensive arms to Israel until a ceasefire agreed.
Most Dems are Repub Lite, which is why they can't turn voters out.

UAE: Reiterates Israel must adhere to IHL as an occupying power. Thanks numerous EU member states for issuing statements in May calling on Israel to reverse its policy, lift blockade & condemn further escalation in the West Bank.

Israel: Starts w/Golda Meir quote (paraphrasing) There will be peace when you love your children enough to give us your land without resisting us.
Goes on to blame every official, academic who spent 19 months portraying Israel as a genocidal regime for the deaths of 2 staffers & then some

US (immediately demands time for rebuttal and seems to forget that we all just heard from an American citizen who has been an eye witness to atrocities): Israel has taken numerous measures to limit harm to civilians and address humanitarian needs.

Palestine: Israel officials are openly telling the world their intentions. Statement after statement, threat after threat. After seeing starvation used as a weapon of war, now we see aid being used as a weapon of war. Quotes 5/27 Netanyahu speech: "You always demonize before you annihilate."

Greece: A child never starts a war and yet as Sophocles reminds us, "War loves to seek its victims in the young." All this suffering could end with a ceasefire & full access to humanitarian assistance.

Rep of Korea: The current violence & suffering unfolding in Gaza for 19 months makes us doubt that we are living in the 21st century. Quoted Jake Wood's reasons for resigning from Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.
Also condemns diplomats fired upon by Israel in West Bank.

China: In Gaza we have witnessed the red lines of international law & the bottom line of human morality repeatedly violated & breached. (references increased violence & settlement in West Bank also)
US should act in a fair & responsible manner & take effective, forceful action.

Pakistan: Reaffirms complete support for briefers, including USG Tom Fletcher, before this Council. In our view, any undue criticism of their work must be unacceptable.
Deepening yet preventable tragedy in Gaza tests our conscience & credibility of Council...this is deliberate destruction.

Sierra Leone: We must recognize the situation unfolding in Gaza bears the hallmarks of atrocity crimes. The risk is not theoretical; it is real and credible. Given our experience, we understand too well the consequences of delayed international action.

UK: UK has always supported Israel's right to protect itself & calls for release of hostages.
We strongly oppose the Israeli government's escalating military action in Gaza, which is totally disproportionate. Let aid in and enable the UN to operate now.

Somalia: This is a crisis entirely manmade & preventable which is exacerbated by the persistent denial to access of life saving aid. This Council cannot remain silent while humanitarian norms are violated.

Guyana: We have heard the briefings today. 2 wks ago we heard from USG Tom Fletcher. Nothing can justify this level of violence against civilians. The judgment of future generations will be justifiably harsh towards us--we who saw the attempts at obliterating an entire people but did not act.

France: France will never forget the crimes on Oct 7 or the hostages & Hamas cannot be a part of the solution in Gaza.
The civilians in Gaza are not Hamas. The Security Council must act & adopt a Humanitarian Resolution. All restrictions on amount & compilation of aid need to be lifted.

Slovenia: Our role is not to challenge the briefers or the messages but to address them. Our role is to take positions. Our role not to remain silent has become clearer. We hope the Council will show unity when voting on the Humanitarian Resolution now being discussed among elected members.

Denmark: This Council has a responsibility to address the long term impacts on int. peace & security. The people of Gaza are starving...more than 95% of all schools in Gaza have sustained damage. Any attempt by Israel to annex Palestinian land would be a violation of international law.

Algeria: Relates the death of 9 of Dr. al-Nijjar's 10 children in an Israeli air strike as she was at Nasser saving children. Words of condemnation are not enough; we must act now. Must they continue offering their children on the altar of global inaction?

Dr. Sidhwa: March 18 Israel violated the ceasefire. I witnessed the most extreme mass casualty event of my career @ Nasser Med, 221 trauma pts in 1 morning: 90 DOA; nearly half were severely injured children.
This is a manmade catastrophe, preventable...allowing it to happen is a choice.
