In previous life I supported technology in the largest school system in Maryland, serving more than 160,500 students. I retired early to work full-time on Obama's 2nd campaign, & have kept an eye on Dem politics since.

Across the government, the Trump administration is scrambling to rehire many federal employees dismissed under DOGE’s staff-slashing initiatives after wiping out entire offices, in some cases imperiling key services such as weather forecasting and the drug approval process.

Amazing. Respect the lede.

Elon threatening to just leave people on the ISS is making a pretty good case for why you nationalize your space program!

The public meltdown happening between the world’s richest man 🙄 and the President of the United States 🙄🙄 once again begs the age-old question: are men simply too emotional to be in positions of power?

“.. This isn't shared sacrifice to address our fiscal trajectory--it's a direct transfer of wealth to the rich.” - @brendanvduke.bsky.social

Senate Commerce's version of the budget bill out tonight requires states to not enforce their AI rules for 10 years under the moratorium to receive federal broadband subsidies under BEAD www.commerce.senate.gov/services/fil...

On the Trump-Musk feud, @aoc.bsky.social: “Oh man, the girls are fighting, aren’t they?”

This friend is in search of a forever home: Chops, located in Muskegon, MI. Learn more: https://www.petfinder.com/dog/chops-75182782/mi/muskegon/pound-buddies-animal-shelter-and-adoption-center-mi185/

remember when yevginy prighozin decided he was more important than putin and his plane exploded and putin was just like well, I hope we’ve all learned a valuable lesson today

If this ever happens, it will be due to Martin Eberhard, Tesla's founding CEO and inventor of core tech in Tesla EVs, raising the issue in his lawsuit after Musk ousted him from the co. iirc @plainsite.org made those legal records available + @washingtonpost.com did *outstanding* in-depth reporting.

Reminder: It's not over until Tesla can't save Elon. Join a #TeslaTakedown near you!

A newly filed Florida Bar ethics complaint from 70 professionals accuses her of weaponizing DoJ for political retribution, alleging that Bondi: “has sought to compel (DOJ) lawyers to violate their ethical obligations under the guise of ‘zealous advocacy.’” floridapolitics.com/archives/741...

And that's the difference between regular people and billionaires. Regular people believed they won the presidency for Trump and that in return they were entitled to lower grocery prices. It didn't work out for them, either. But, unlike Elon, they don't have retribution power.

Steve Bannon is urging Trump to cancel all of Musk's contracts, launch investigations into him, and deport him.

Some good news from Milford: "Marcelo Gomes da Silva, 18, who came to the U.S. from Brazil at age 7, was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents Saturday. Authorities have said the agents were looking for the Milford High School teenager’s father."

Pardon this interruption of the Trump-Musk feud, but here is something else you really need to know about: www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

if anyone wants to start a GoFundMe to 'encourage' reporters to shove microphones in front of MAGA GOP elected officials (GOP governors most especially!) and ask them for their thoughts on the trumpov/Musk toddler slap-fight, I think that's a very good use of resources 😁

Here it is: Musk thinks he is owed a say in Trump’s policy because of how much he spent on the campaign.

Some Democrats are looking to cosy up to Musk: Ro Khanna: “We should ultimately be trying to convince him that the Democratic Party has more of the values that he agrees with.” Ritchie Torres: “I'm a believer in redemption, and he is telling the truth about the legislation.”

Some Democrats are looking to cozy up to fascism, is what they wanna do. If that party wants to start taking this country back, they need to figure out how to lead this country instead of being content to lick the ass of the dog ahead of them in line.

very fun to read frederick douglass accurately describe the problem with the pardon power in 1867

Chris Murphy: "We can't be preparing for the 2026 election. It might not come. All of our focus right now has to be on protecting the democracy, about stopping the corruption."

🧵 Steven Miller's tangled web of lies about immigration have us all trapped in his dystopian nightmare.

@gregsargent.bsky.social is doing important work on Trump's deportation gulag. But this misses a key point. Stephen Miller lied his ass off to get Trump elected. He lied abt TdA, he lied abt number of criminal aliens, he (obviously) lied abt Haitians, he funded a shit-ton of false ads abt migrants
