I could argue that every single one of us is at risk for serious illness if we get COVID—because the data show that we are.

I sure hope so! Things sure seem bleak; it’s nice to be reminded there are kind, caring people when it feels as if we’re surrounded by cruelty and selfishness.

What a horrible, horrible man. And what an evil sentiment.

Great essay, thank you.

Once again, Canada provides aid to its neighbor to the south, and so (SO) many of us appreciate it, particularly during this absolutely awful period when, officially, the U.S. has been rude and dismissive of one of its closest allies.

Aggregated data that doesn’t identify specific people doesn’t impact our medical privacy. It does, however, serve to inform the public of active risks.

Eeewwwww! 🤮

Same, but in my email to them I said if they implement a mask ban, they’ll lose me as a customer. 😄

This is infuriating. Thanks for the feedback link—will express my extreme displeasure with their dangerous and discriminatory idea.

Exactly what I came to add. 😱

Massachusetts. (One of those many “M” states. 😉) Terrifying (which of course is the point).

P.S. Protesting (peacefully) shouldn’t be cause, either.

Infuriating. That’s too benign a word—evil, cruel, oppressive, terrifying.

That makes my skin crawl just reading it, even though I realize you’re citing it as an example!

Extra funny because he works in PR but it wasn’t self-promotion—the KOMO crew wasn’t a setup. (He also wants you to know that even though he *looks* like the loneliest man in Seattle, his husband and some other friends were just off camera. 😄

IT’S A DAMN TAX! I can hear my professor from business school in my head right now: “A tariff is a tax.” Dr. Jacques Delacroix’s voice from 30 years ago, in his international business management class. “A tariff is a tax.”

The Jungle haunted me. Great book.

Clearly they haven’t actually listened to/absorbed the lyrics. The River is another pretty bleak example.

Absolutely, 100%, through and through. It’s difficult to fathom someone that unattractive in every way, inside snd out, but then we have this miserable example terrorizing us daily.

jurisdiction, not extradition—it’s late and I shouldn’t be typing—but the gist is there.
comment in response to post
💯 How dare we deport someone without cause, without due process, to a place where we claim we don’t have extradition authority? (I could have stopped at several places in that sentence for it still to be valid.) “Clerical error” is NOT okay.

Call me an “evermasker”—fine. “Airborne aware” works, too.

Yes. Rooting as in cheering/hoping, perfect spelling.
