Lovely to see a bite out of the Sun from here in London. My Nothing phone did a good job of snapping it through the #eclipse glasses.

Must have agreed for someone else to come in, and didn't want it leaking out while Warne was still at the helm. Surprised Hanshaw is officially in charge for tomorrow.

Sometimes you end up deleting many 1000s of words, but always save them for future use, just in case. And then never look at them again! #HappyWriting

In Lennon Wheeldon & Keilen Robinson we've 2 England U19 internationals in our own academy we don't give any game time to, plus other promising youngsters eg Cruz Allen whose record in youth football surpasses Armstrong's. Why develop other teams' academy products instead of our own? #dcfcfans #dcfc

The industry punches massively above its weight in terms of media profile, but the sad reality is there is not much money in publishing. It's such an interesting and stimulating industry to work in, but wages are low and hours are long. And few authors can make a good living from it full time.

#Starship launch delayed again, until Thursday evening UK time. I'm sure launch cadence will ramp up massively through the year, but it's a disappointing start to 2025. x.com/JudgeTrevino...

Intriguing issue. I'm reminded of Douglas Adams' adage about technology. Those born into an AI world will see it as the most natural thing to aid their writing and storytelling. On the other hand, in a chess tournament for instance, how much if any assistance is (Superhuman) AI allowed to give?

I beg to disagree. Here's a very measured thread partly explaining how we reached this terrible point, which remains ongoing. I would urge you to read and allow righteous anger to take hold. We should all be angry x.com/CDP1882/stat...

Thank goodness someone is speaking out about the systematic gang rape of tens of thousands of working class white girls. A shame The Guardian doesn't appear outraged by this the biggest scandal in UK history, but instead criticises people for speaking out. You'd rather we all looked the other way?

It's the biggest scandal in British history. The numbers are vast. Maybe not 250k but certainly of the order of tens of thousands. All swept under the carpet due to institutional cowardice by politicians, police & media, working class white girls sacrificed in the name of racial harmony. Thanks Elon

You're the expert, but I do think QM is important because it tells us something remarkable about the nature of reality, that we've not quite grasped. Without that, electromagnetism is the discovery that has (literally) powered Human progress. Indeed Newton's invention of science changed everything.

Having Isaacman and Musk more involved and at the heart of things can only be exceptionally wonderful for the space community. It's the dawn of a new era. The article queries funding, but when you cancel SLS you create massive new funding opportunities. And with Starship to LEO everything is cheaper

Gorgeous pic. Because it's so fast-growing, I can see #bamboo being popular among early #Mars settlers. And, as they begin to terraform the planet, we might see scenes such as this!

The greatest single social change in my lifetime. Why should it be anybody else's business (including the State's) who people fall in love with? Great work as ever from @hannahritchie.bsky.social.
Amazing to think same-sex marriage was only legalized a decade ago in the UK, yet is now so normalized

Love your Sunday show. The #Rocky 50th anniversary was amazing, but how can it be 50 years? How!?

Brilliant appointment. Jared's been a stunningly good space advocate, with incredible experience of running a big organization, a test pilot & all his space trips, raising millions for cancer treatment. He will continue the process of restoring and furthering #NASA's ambition for crewed spaceflight.

I'd add, if you're using WhatsApp, don't. Move to Signal instead. Or continue to be farmed for your data by Zuckerberg.

A v good point. Yes we curate our own social media feeds by how we engage, but it's hard to have defences against some social media algorithms (Neil Lawrence calls it #SystemZero). If social media weren't driven by the desperate need for clicks, it'd be transformed. I love Twitter but this is OK too
