Yeah the rhythm for IP is bonkers. You whip up an outline super quick, then wait so long for the approval that you've nearly forgotten about it, then suddenly the green light and turnaround is "drop everything!" level tight... Aaaand, rinse repeat. If you're lucky.

Sure one character is trans, but like, there are trans siblings featured in Overlord, a nonbinary protagonist in Tensura, and even a trans character waaaay back in Cowboy Beebop, so if that's the criteria, there is a LOT of queer anime.

It isn't merely moral discomfort I feel at the idea of using the weapons of the enemy. There would also be a real, long term cost to the larger LGBTQIA+ community in sanctioning "justified" homophobic bigotry. "Let the chips fall where they may" will harm more than just shitty closeted right-wingers
