I don't blame the soldiers. I blame the people who put them there. It must be very hard to wrestle with your consciousness knowing the penalty for disobeying an order. I'll bet if they were given the choice the vast majority of them would leave. Their commanders should know better!!

I hope our protests are peaceful. They can be loud. They can be visible. They can hold up some creative signs (at least I hope they will). But they should be peaceful. We can't let them pull us down to their level!

Violent protests are playing right into his plans. Peaceful and orderly protests will make his narrative of insurrection very difficult. Looters and bad actors are not protesting, they are thieves and vandals.
