Which isn’t to say that there shouldn’t be incentives for people to pursue specialized roles in whatever field, but undervaluing those doing work because anyone could do it is a misapplication of supply and demand that drives down quality of work and of life

Management is not more valuable than labor. Fungibility of a worker doesn’t make that work less valuable, and paying less for worthwhile work that doesn’t require specialized knowledge is a bastardization of economics

There is no arbiter of whether or not your work is worthwhile, and it should be the role of market forces to determine who and what companies are creating value.

Doing more work should lead to access to a higher standard of living. Not doing useful work should mean having more restricted access to luxury and comforts.

The function of work is to enable and supply a reasonable quality of life. Having more people involved in work should increase the ability to support a higher quality of life for more people.

As long as anything exists in the known universe, the actions you take in your life have significance, because you are causally linked to greater or lesser degrees to everything that happens before and after every action you take.

Because any event is the confluence of countless causal links, every event has some significance to any event that is at all connected. Everything in the known universe is connected by gravity—it doesn’t have a maximum range, it just gets weaker without reaching zero. Everything is touching.

Are there things democrats can do in their districts and states to fill holes being made by the blind federal cuts?

There’s value in making him do it without only sycophants present. If norms and institutions to matter, we have to sustain them ourselves. If we participate, he is forced to continue to participate as well. All respect to Alexandria’s choice to avoid it, but this is part of a congressperson’s job.
