Lol, gotta aim higher. My expectations for this are a few notches below my hopes!
Trump's either going to show up for the G7 with all egos blazing from his birthday parade, or in a rage at the protests stealing the limelight. Either way he is not going to like being among peers rather than toadies.

I confess as a person who was born in the mid-70s I've known for ten years that I need to get an MMR booster.
I got a Whooping cough booster in 2016 and was told to come back in a few weeks for MMR, and then I just didn't. Got lazy.
Now I can be lazy anymore.

That's amazing, but also the opposite of a real-life batman!
Bruce Wayne could significantly reduce crime in Gotham City by spending his money on this kind of thing instead of high tech bat costumes and personal paramilitary hardware!
But he wants to beat up the mentally ill, not help them.

Trump is gong to spend the last amount of time time possible in Canada for the G7. He doesn't like being in the company of equals, except one at a time in an environment he controls.
Just like Charlevoix in 2018, he'll fly in, get annoyed that he's not the boss, then leave.

Hey, just cause it's SciFi doesn't mean it's not relevant. SciFi has a long history of holding up a critical mirror to our own society.

The people who were against mask mandates and social distancing would have been all for it if Trump had asked them to do it.

I asked if the chicken sandwich was white meat or dark meat, and after some confusion the girl said "Well it all comes from the same chicken" and for all these years I just assumed she was a little thick.
But now after seeing that on Threads I'm wondering if maybe I was just talking Canadian.

It got me thinking about 35 years ago when I visited Ireland as a teenager, and I went into a Supermacs in Galway. Supermacs was sort of almost but not quite a McDonalds-esque fast food joint.

Ok but hear me out...
Maybe we can convince the antivaxxers to get the shot if they think they can undo it by buying these pills.
Get all the benefits of immunity and then take some cumin pills to dissolve the 5G nanobots.

With any luck Trump will rush one of them and we'll finally get the live action Peter Griffin Chicken Fight that we all deserve

The fact that it says Twitter is a giveaway.
That's from his 2001 suspension.

Hmm I'd rather have the raisins than the wine.
They help to lower LDL cholesterol, so I mix em into cereal and yogurt to help stave off my next heart attack!

My favourite part is the dig against Trump where the Business Ukraine journal is quoted as tweeting "It turns out Ukraine does have some cards after all. Today Zelensky played the King of Drones."

It is!
He's the best. Doesn't narc you out to Santa and you don't have to pose him every day, he just wants to hang around and be cool.

Also in the liquor cabinet is an almost-empty bottle of Sortilege Maple Whiskey, which I highly recommend.
It's rare for us to finish a bottle of liquor in this house except for making vanilla peach bourbon jam, but we almost finished that!
(Actually I might have put the bottle back empty)

I have something jammed in there now!
I'm going to build a new frame for down there and wrap it in vapour barrier, but have to deal with the repair first.

I agree. Even with masks someone light recognize them.
Even of nothing can be done today, any names gleaned from recognition should be recorded for future prosecution.
They'll probably get due process, which is more than they deserve.

If one of them was one of my relatives, I'd disown them in every possible way.
I wouldn't allow Gestapo at my holiday table, or give them access to my kids.
But it's not my country, so it's easy to talk tough. I'm just hoping that they have some personal consequences.

Yes, that's what's happened all right. The vertical 2x4s are embedded in the concrete like fence posts and they've just been slowly wicking up water since 1984.
Definitely beyond my meagre skills.

The source of my water seepage up both sides of this door seems to be two 2x4s from the original concrete form, embedded in the concrete for forty years.

The other side is interior. This is sort of a dividing wall between two sections of a poured concrete basement, and the walls were framed and drywalled after the fact.
The other side seems to be later work, I've cut away the drywall and the frame there is wrapped in thick plastic vapour barrier.
comment in response to

Yeah this looks like they might have used this 2x4 as part of the form for the poured concrete walls, then left it there.

Does anyone have any thoughts or info here?
Like, why would they do this (built in 1984)?
How can I get that wood out?
Should I jsut suck it up and call a pro?
comment in response to

I didn't know that embedding 2x4s into the concrete basement floor was a thing.
It's a bad thing too, it's just wicking moisture up from the Nether.
I have one on the other side of the door to fix as well.

I was able to hammer this screwdriver down almost to its handle before I stopped while I could still retrieve the screwdriver.

It looks like the one 2x4 I removed from this spot goes down into the concrete floor.

Now do Peter Griffin!

I appreciated the speech but I don't think I'd call the swipe at Trump "subtle."
Maybe Donald himself might have been like "HEY!" five stoplights later, but for the rest of us, the Trump digs were as plain as the ears on Chuck's head.
